I woke up early and watched Mon sleep. She seemed so at peace that I didn't want to bother her. I got dressed and headed down to the beach. I left my sandals nearby and walked into the water until it reached my ankles. I have so much to be thankful for right now. I have Mon, a gorgeous woman who has only brought out the best in me. Life gave me back my sister who I really need to talk with soon. I want her to know that I'm no longer mad about what happened.

Being with Mon I have realized that life is too precious to waste it on grudges. Engfa couldn't take care of us when she left our grandmother's palace and when she came back for Song's funeral, she had enough things to worry about. Everything happens for a reason. Now she's back and I have no intentions on letting her go again. I want to see Charlotte again and meet my niece or nephew.

I thought about so many things as I watched the waves and the sea at this early hour of the morning. I thought about what I will say to my grandmother. I know I've been very compliant with her since Song died, but I think I'm strong enough now to stand up for what I believe in. I want Mon to be the one I marry whenever we're both ready for that step and I won't let my grandmother, Kirk or anyone stand in the way of our happiness.

I looked to the side and saw my beautiful girlfriend. I could wake up to this view every single day of my life. I walked out of the water as Mon walked towards me. She wrapped her arms around me and hugged me tight.

"Good morning, teerak."

"Good morning, baby." She kissed my cheek.

"I woke up and you weren't there." I watched her pout. She's so adorable I couldn't help but smile.

"I'm sorry, baby. I woke up early and decided to take a walk." I caressed her cheek as she leaned into my hand. "Are you ready to have breakfast?" She nodded. I leaned in and kissed her. "Let's go then."

I put my sandals back on and we walked hand in hand towards the patio where we saw Cher and Risa kissing and laughing. I want to be that open with Mon eventually. I'm not a big fan of public displays of affection because I have an image to keep up, but every once in a while, I want to be able to kiss Mon without worrying about what other people might think or how they will react.

"You're here." Cher noticed that we were watching them, but she didn't stop holding Risa.

"The food is ready. Please come sit down." Risa waved us over. They exchanged a kiss and served us a variety of fruits, eggs, pancakes, coffee and juice. Mon moved the chair back so I could sit.

"Thank you, baby." She smiled and sat in front of me. Her eye caught the shimmer of the ring that Cher was wearing. It looked like a wedding ring.

"Yes, I'm married." Cher confirmed.

"You two are married?"

"Why do you look so surprised? Two people in love should marry." I didn't like how Cher spoke to Mon.

"Can two women get married here in Thailand?"

"Thai law still doesn't recognize same sex marriage, but we got married in the states so it's perfectly legal." Risa announced. The idea of Mon and I getting married someday creeped into my mind. I would love to see Mon in a white dress walking down the aisle towards me.

"Yes. Risa is the woman I choose to spend my life with so I thought why not get married. We went to United States for a couple of weeks, got married and toured there for our honeymoon. Then we came back to Thailand and opened the resort." They looked at each other smiling and seemed so in love and in tune with each other. I want that.

"What about your parents? Were they okay with it?" Mon seemed to have a lot of questions regarding the topic.

"Why would we care about what they think? We choose to be together, and they should be happy as long as we are." Again, with the attitude. Risa needs to control Cher a bit more. Clients are going to run away from the resort if they witness this.

"Mon was asking nicely. Why did you respond like that?"

"Relationships are between two people in love. No one else's opinion should matter when it comes to the decisions they make. I want her to understand that she can't wait for other people's approval."

"Ok I understand your point, but you don't have to be so mean about it. She's just curious. You should be more respectful to your clients. No wonder this place is empty right now." Cher was about to answer back, but Risa moved in front of her.

"You're right. I apologize for my wife's attitude, she's quite blunt. I hope you enjoy your meal. Let's go, Cher." They headed towards the bar and had what looked like a heated discussion.

Cher's words were stuck in my head. She's right. Mon and I can't base our future and our happiness on what my grandmother thinks or feels. If she doesn't accept it, there's nothing that we can do. Mon and I are happy with each other. Other people should want our happiness more than anything if they really love us. Plus, we aren't hurting anyone. Maybe Kirk and Nop, but it's not our fault that we don't feel the same way as they do. Risa walked back to our table.

"Do you two need anything else?"

"No, thank you." I responded politely.

"I hope this question doesn't bother you, but are you two a couple?"

"Well if Lady Sam kissing me last night didn't give it away, then yes we are a couple." Mon chuckled. I blushed. Cher joined in the conversation.

"Oh, so those bracelets are like your engagement rings so other people won't know you two are together, but you have a piece of each other when you're not together?" Damn...

Mon and I looked at each other at the same time. I know what I want our relationship to look like in the near future, but we have never spoken about what Mon want for us. Cher and Risa's relationship is making me question where our relationship is going.
