5. DRINK AWAY THE SORROWS
It looks as if the world,
Is crashing down to an end.
And everything around me,
Is not what it’s always been.
No more of everything I’ve loved,
No more partying with rum.
No more anything at all,
No more songs to be sung.
I’ll just drink away my life,
And try to hold on tight.
I’ll stand on edges and burning bridges,
But, I know that it’s not right.
I’ll just drink away my life,
And try to hold on tight.
‘Cause the whole wide world,
Is ending for me tonight.
I’ve ran out of luck,
And now, my life’s in a slump.
I just need a bottle in hand, and a good friend,
And maybe we both can get drunk.
‘Cause this is the end,
I don’t know who to turn to.
Everything around me’s lost,
I don’t know what else to do.
I’ll just drink away my life,
And hold on really tight.
I’ll stand on edges and burning bridges,
But I know that it’s not right.
I’ll just drink away my life,
And hold on really tight.
‘Cause the whole wide world,
Around me is ending tonight.
I’ll just drink away the sorrows,
I’ll hold up a bottle.
And drink away tonight,
Just drink, drink away my life.
I’ll just drink away the sorrows,
I’ll just hold up one last bottle.
And I’ll drink away tonight,
I’ll just end all my sorrows and my life.
