Miguel takes no time to rush in. Everything is a blur of motion, the nearly identical men moving too fast for my basic eyes.

I feel useless, watching Miguel fight another version of himself without much care. He's seen himself get shot before after all, I guess fighting like this isn't much different. Right?

However, I don't wanna just sit and do nothing, even though I'm apparently staying put. I go to use my bracelet and call Jess but stop when I realize it's broken; my heart skips a beat.

"Why are you coming after us right now?" Miguel questions with a growl behind his voice, still exchanging blows with his copy. "What information are you trying to gain?"

Universe 50235's Miguel doesn't say anything as he wraps his legs around my friend's waist, twisting him to the ground. That much I could see, and it makes me wince.

"Give me her," The long hair of this universes Miguel falls around his face as he takes deep breaths from the sudden battle. "Or I'll take her."

Now it's Miguel's turn to say nothing, he simply grabs his duplicates arms and flips their positions, before looking up to me, and I watch his eyes build an emotion I couldn't pinpoint. "Lyla!"

The familiar girl doesn't show up though, and Miguel repeats himself, to no avail. "Where is she?!"

He grumbles, focusing on his thoughts and what to do. Meanwhile Miguel 50235 stares at me, and I furrow my brows.

I know better than to interrupt though, so I don't say anything and instead continue tinkering with my watch, praying that maybe it'll flick on if only for a minute. Just enough time to reach out to headquarters.

But it doesn't.

Instead, I'm sitting against a wall, useless as I wait for Miguel to wrap up this fight with... Miguel.

I don't expect what happens next though. I guess I should have, given what I know about the many universes and what is considered cannons among them. "She had a different hairstyle..." Miguel 50235 whispers to me, a tear streaking down his eye now. "And she preferred a different style of clothes."

"Stop talking to her, you know damn well why you lost what you did." My Miguel grumbles, focusing the man's face back onto him with his hand. "y/n, grab me handcuffs."

I don't let myself think too deeply about that statement right now and instead put Miguel's request on the front burner, grabbing some handcuffs I had thanks to the suit and what it came with, handing them over.

"Thanks."

He cuffs Miguel and stands up, finally able to use his watch now that he'd gained control of the situation. Not like the other Miguel was putting up much of a fight, he'd stopped struggling to talk to me.

"I need three spiders here now, I don't care which ones they are. There's a rogue that broke cannon events, oh, and Jess... Never again."

I swallow the spit building in my throat, and walk over to the cuffed 'rogue', crouching down to his sitting form. "You had a y/n."

He looks up at me, and I see the obvious hurt, but his brows scrunch. "And?"

The man has closed all his walls off since he last spoke, and I realize just how similar these two are, compared to some of the other Miguel's I know are out there.

Miguel grabs my hand and pulls me back towards him. "There's no reason to talk to him."

"What cannon event could he have possibly broken in the past few minutes you've been here to get me? How did he find us so quickly?"

I ignore his controlling tendencies as I always do, pushing to get answers of my own. Miguel wasn't one to keep secrets from me, it's another reason everyone sent me to do their dirty work with the boss.

"You don't need to worry about what he did or how he did it, okay? Just drop it," Miguel crosses his arms after letting me go, keeping his eyes trained on the enemy while speaking to me.

I stand corrected.

Before I can ask any more questions, Jess comes through the portal with a frown, Spider Wolf, Spider Monkey, and Sun-Spider behind her.

"Take him back to headquarters and make sure he's contained, I don't need him sneaking out," Miguel immediately begins to bark his orders, but I'm just zoning off, absorbing the repercussions of my terrible idea.

The plan was a major flop, but does it even matter anymore? Was it ever as big of an issue as Jess made it out to be? I mean she got three Spiders pretty quickly to come and help, not to mention I've never really heard anyone complain about him in such a way.

"y/n?" I shake my head and look to see Sun-Spider using her walking aids and smile. She's always been one of the Spiders I can go to for some girl time, and I enjoy our conversations.

"Sorry, I was lost in thought."

She frowns. "Why did you leave?"

The question was pretty standard, and I'd ask it too if roles were switched, but all I could do was shrug plainly. "I don't remember at this point. I'm sure I had a reason before, but now I kinda just wanna get back and shower."

I didn't forget why I came here, but after what happened, I knew it was dumb. There's no reason to endanger anyone over my fears of getting too close to Miguel.

I thought doing this would be an easier way of getting Miguel to do something for me. I was scared of too many questions. Too many feelings. I don't need those kinds of things, but now I've gotten not one Miguel in a rough spot, but two all because I didn't wanna actually give it effort.

"Well we can go," Charlotte smiles at me, I can tell even with her mask on, and I nod.

"Yeah, we can."

. . .

Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing here? I feel like it's pretty obvious
