The screen flickered for a moment, before a scene lit up. It showed the insides of a small, cozy home. The sunlight shining through the windows as the birds chirped distantly.
"Hey! That's our house!" Ruby said, pointing at the screen.
"That's your house? It seems really nice." Jaune said, to which Ruby nodded to.
"Yeah! It's not much, but it's enough for us."
A small bundle of red was seated on the couch, large silver eyes staring at the TV screen with a cookie in its small grasp.
A very loud gasp echoed in the theater.
"OH MY GOD!! ITS TINY RUBY!!" Nora shouted excitedly, practically jumping in her seat. "SHE'S SO CUTE!!!"
Pyrrha nodded. "I agree, you were quite a cute child Ruby."
Said person hid behind her hood in embarrassment, trying to hide her bright red face. It only got worse when Yang joined in.
"Yup! My baby sister is the cutest!" The blonde exclaimed, hugging the poor girl tightly.
"Yaaang~! Let me go!"
Weiss rolled her eyes fondly at the scene, though she couldn't help but feel a slight melancholy. 'Why couldn't we be like that?' She thought to herself, thinking back to her older sister.
Small Ruby munched on her cookie as she continued to watch the colorful show on screen, fixated on the bright pastel colors of the characters. She mumbled something quietly, making another bite off her cookie.
Nora and Yang continued to coo over the little reaper's cuteness, with Ruby trying to bury herself into her own coat.
"Hey Rubes! What'cha up too?" Someone asked, and Small Ruby turned her head over to look at them. It was a younger Yang, with her blonde hair done in two low pigtails. She climbed up the couch, sitting next to her little sister.
Another loud gasp filled the theater.
"LITTLE YAAANG!!! OH YOU TWO WERE ADORABLE!!" Nora shouted, vibrating in her seat. Ren, being very used to his friend's attitude, only sighed.
"You never told me you had your hair in pigtails." Blake said, looking at Yang, who only laughed sheepishly.
"It's ah...kinda embarrassing to be honest..."
"You're watchin' this show again? What's it called again? The uh...the..."
"The Wonderful World of Bubblegum." Another voice chimed in helpfully, and Yang nodded along.
"Yeah! That show!" The blonde blinked, before looking up. "Oh! Hi mom!"
The two sisters froze.
"...Mom?" Ruby whispered out, eyes fixated on the woman on screen. It felt like a dream, even if she's only seeing her through a screen, it still felt surreal to see her mom alive and well.
Yang was frozen, eyes glued on the screen as her body shook slightly. She had more memories with Summer after all, and to see the woman here, even if it isn't truly her, made her feel so overwhelmed with more emotion than ever.
Both Weiss and Blake looked at the two with concern, the latter placing a comforting hand on the blonde's shoulder.
Summer smiled, giving both Yang and Ruby a soft kiss on the forehead. "Hello you two, having fun?"
"Mm!" Ruby made a noise, taking another bite off her cookie. "Fwun!"
"Yeah! Fun!" Yang mimicked her sister, which caused Summer to laugh softly.
"That's good to see, though I'm afraid we'll have to have fun later. It's dinner time."
"But my cookie!" Ruby whined, trying to bury herself in the soft red blanket.
"No worries dear, I'll make sure you can have another cookie before bedtime."
"Pinky promise?" Ruby asked, sticking her small pinky finger out to Summer, who did the same, wrapping hers around the girl's.
"Hm, pinky promise." Summer smiled, and Ruby beamed happily.
"Yaay!" She cheered, letting herself be carried up in her mom's arms and towards the dining room, her sister following closely behind.
"Is momma gonna come home today?" Yang asked, grabbing onto Summer's shirt with her small hands.
"Yes, momma's gonna come home today." Summer said, and Yang cheered happily.
"Yes! Momma's coming home!"
"'Momma'? I didn't realize you two had two moms." Weiss questioned, looking at the two.
Yang winced. "It's...complicated."
Blake gave the brawler a reassuring squeeze, who looked at her gratefully.
Summer laughed, joy filling up her body as she held onto her small baby girl. This was the life she always wanted, a peaceful life with her husband and her wife. A happy life with the people she loved most, she really couldn't ask for more.
This was it, her happy ending. An ending fitting for a woman who had sacrificed everything for the people she cared about.
This was her happy family.
The screen faded to black.
"Aw, that's it? I mean seeing little Ruby and little Yang is nice and all but I wanted some action!" Nora exclaimed, pointing at the screen.
"Now now Nora, maybe we'll get something that's more fitting for you next time." Jaune reassured, which worked really well for some reason because Nora sat there happily with no other complaints.
"I think it was quite adorable!" Pyrrha said, and Ren nodded.
"Didn't expect to see mom though..." Yang muttered, looking towards her sister to see if she was doing well. "You okay Rubes?"
"Y-Yeah! I'm good!" Ruby sniffed, and Yang blinked.
"...Are you crying?"
"N-No! I just got dust in my eyes!"
"C'mon Rubes, you don't gotta hide it~!" Yang laughed, wrapping her arm around Ruby. "Nothing's wrong with getting a little teary!"
"I-I'm not crying! Shuddup!"
Everyone (excluding Weiss who just huffed fondly) let out a chuckle seeing the two sisters bicker.
"WELL! SEEMS LIKE YOU GUYS ARE HAVING FUN. ANYONE NEED A BREAK?"
"Can we get some snacks?" Jaune asked, and bags of popcorn and sodas appeared. "Huh, sweet."
"IF YOU NEED ANYTHING, JUST GIVE ME A CALL! NOW, ONTO THE NEXT CLIP!"
