- 40. Ties That Bind - 1

Hey guys, so as I went through my almost all VAni story I noticed that there was no proper story or plot that showed about their arranged marriage. So thought of trying a proper story line on vani which is a arranged marriage plot for them in a typical Indian traditional path. I planned it for about five chapters and hoping it to complete within that and give justice to plot also hoping it will not exceed 6 chapters if demanded.

Chapter 1 : The Arrangement

Bani's heart sank as her parents sat her down, sharing the news of the arranged marriage proposal. The weight of their expectations pressed heavily upon her, and she couldn't help but feel a mix of apprehension and frustration. She had always envisioned a different path, one where she would have the freedom to choose her life partner based on love and compatibility.

However, recognizing the importance of family and the value placed on arranged marriages within her culture, Bani reluctantly agreed to meet her perspective boy for the marriage. She understood that her parents only wanted what they believed was best for her, even if it meant following a traditional path.

And today, she entered the living room of her very own home, but filled with unknown people. She was dressed in simple anarkali suit with heavy jhumkas hanging in her ear holes, the tiny bindi she had between her eyebrows and the eye lashes decked up with kajal and eye liner that made her eyes look bigger and brighter.

Her eyes looked up and they had their first eye contact. He passed a polite smile. He had liked her in the very first when his mom had showed him photo of Bani, three days back. And her profile for him seemed to match his expectations and desires. She was as though seemed just made for him. Her eyes held a lot of emotions and spoke volumes.

And now He was here with his Mom, Dad and his Sister.

As they looked at each other, Bani also passed the smile back, not wanting to seem rude for the guests. But soon, she sensed a mixture of curiosity and reservation in his gaze.

He stood up, and she was a little shorter for him. He extended his hand for a shake introducing himself.

V: Hi, Umm. Veeranshu.

B: Bani.

She shook his hands with the smile that made it's way, her heartbeats raced and she felt chills. Her hand felt tiny in his.

Puneet(Bani's mom) : baito beta.

Bani and Veer sat across each other.

Vanshika,Veer's sister who's younger than him, a ninteen year old, waved at Bani with a sweet smile, and Bani also passed the same smile to the girl blinking her eyes.

Chandra(veer's mom): tho Bani beta, veer, kyu na tum dono ek baar baat karo, kyu puneet ji?

She asked sensing the hesitation between both. Bani looked at her father and her mom. Puneet nodded,

P: ha beta, jaou. Kyu nai.

Bani stood and veer followed her where she went. She took him to the balcony beside her room.

V: so... Sach kaho tho it's, ....awkward!

B: same

She passed a smile.
