Shane grumbles as he fiddles with his fingers, it wasn't even that late yet his throat was burning already from the amount of beer he in-digested. He cooped himself up in the corner as he stuff his face full of pizza. He groans as he feels a tap on his shoulder. "Um, hi." Oh, it's that new baker. Darn it, he's not in his best shape right now. He grumbles, "Hi." The fresh face of the baker is so bright that he squints his eyes.

"Umhm, mind if I sit here?" You ask while fiddling with your long hair. Shane slightly smiles, "Eh, why not?" He says as the baker sits in a chair near to him. "What's your name?" Shane says awkwardly, trying to make a conversation to the younger man. Shane had to admit it, you were attractive and he felt intimidated. "Um, my name is (Y/N). I-it's nice to meet you, Shane. I've been wanting to talk to you for a while, b-but I was intimidated." Shane quirks up his eyebrows.

"You were scared to talk to me?" He says with a raspy voice. "I just thought you were intimidating, guess we intimidated each other." He said with a slight smile as he sipped on his cold beer. "How'd you know my name?" Shane asks as he leans over to you.

You blush slightly and catch a sniff of alcohol and pizza off of him. "I- um, sort of asked Gus on everyone's names here in the valley. Um, hope you don't find it creepy!" You say with a high pitched tone. Shane chuckles, "It's kinda cute." Wait. What.

Shane chokes slightly and turns around. Holy crap, he just said that. Did Gus change his brew because he's never acted like this when he was drunk. Was it because he sort of has a crush on the new baker? No! Of course not...it was the beer definitely.

You chuckle at the statement of his and Shane just sips his beer slowly. "Sorry, didn't mean to- uh, say that. I'm just kinda tipsy right now." The black haired man slurs out slightly, his face turning red because of the beer...yeah. "Um, no it's okay. I understand, sometimes..we say things we don't mean." You say with a small smile, empathizing with Shane.

Shane burps and mutters a 'sorry', "Yeah, I feel that. Sometimes I say too much stuff to my niece and then she knows to much...she's just a kid but, she worries about me like an adult. I want to stop drinking for her but- buhh...life is tough sometimes y'know? I-I have a dead end job, slaving away for some company, I leech off of Marnie...and I have no friends...I wish I could just disappear...but, I'm a coward..." Shane feels his tears drip down his face. He sniffs. "Sorry, I- I promise I'm not like this when I'm sober." He's not drunk at all.

You slowly bring a hand to Shane's back, soothing him. He sobs silently. You bring out a handkerchief, your initials sewn on the side as you wipe away his tears. He laughs shakily as he hides his face. "Wow...what a bad first impression I made on you, huh?" He said while pushing away the beer and glaring at it.

"No! It's not...like um...like that at all, Shane." You exclaim. "Thank you for...being open to me." You blush, suddenly your mannerism is gone. "Um..." Nope, it's back again. "I can't say that I know what you're going through or I know how you feel, because in reality, no one has the same stuff going on but-" you stop yourself as you realize you're rambling. Shane looks at you with admiration. You flush even more red.
