I stood up and went to class. I sat on the table and put my headphones into my ears. Suddenly someone poked me. Ugh, I hate when people do this. It's just so annoying. "Hey Jessy", Luke, a boy from my class said. "Don't ever dare to poke me again, really, no.", I said seriously. Luke and me have been "friends" since the 6th grade. We used to spend a lot of time together, in school and even out of school. But since I "changed", how my mother says, we only talk in class. "Are you coming to Ciaras party?", he asked while he was getting on the table to sit next to me. "Mhm, I don't know yet. What about you?", I said. "I'm definitely going!", he literally shouted at me. "Okay.", I said. "It's going to be the biggest party of the year! And you should definitely come! I mean, you haven't been on parties or anything for ages." That was true. I'm just trying to avoid everything that has to do with social contact. "I will think about it.", I said honestly. "Good.", he said and smiled at me. Luke's just a regular boy with a regular face, regular hobbies and regular grades. He never fascinated me enough to make me fall in love with him, even though we spent a lot of time together. And we always actually had a good time. People told me, that Luke was definitely in love with me a lot, but he always denied it and I believed him. It never felt like love when we were together. Whatever, now we're only classmates.
The next hours went really slowly and I was so nervous for the meet up with Damien. Only 4 hours left... 3... 2...1. I went home, ate cereals and put some better clothes on. It's actually so awkward, that we met while I was wearing the ugliest outfit ever. I put better jeans, a blouse and a kinda cute necklace on. I opened my hair from the bun I had the whole day and brushed them. I added some mascara and put a sheer lipstick on. Hopefully I don't look overdressed or something like that. Now I had 10 minutes left. I decided to already go out. I stood at the bus station. Then it was 5PM and he was not there yet. Suddenly someone poked me from behind. "Whaaaaah!", I screamed. It was Damien. Of course. Why was I even screaming? I turned around and got wrapped in his arms. He really hugged me oh my god. This hug felt so perfect and I wanted it to last forever, but until I could even wrap my hands completely around him, he let me go. "Hey Jess.", he said with a smile that made his whole face looking like one big smile. "Hey, Damien.", I said probably too shy. "Ready for some fun?", he smirked. He took my hand and pulled me. OH MY GOD, HE TOUCHED ME. No, don't freak out, Jess, no! "Where are we going?", I asked. He just kept on smirking. "My favorite place." I was nervous. Of course I was. We went a bit. But it felt like I was running miles. My condition is just the worst. "Here we go.", Damien said. I looked around me. Just a street with a few houses and some trees. "This is your favorite place?", I asked dubiously. "Of course not! Just come with me." We got into one of the houses. "Wait. Do you live here or where do you got the keys from?" He laughed. "My grandpa used to live here. He died last year. I got the keys. So whenever I don't want to be at home I can just stay here. It's pretty cool." "Oh, my condolence.." "It's fine. He was old and he had a good life." I smiled at him. We went upstairs to the last floor. "Now take care. It's going to be really tightly. Watch out, that you don't hit your head.", he said. It was seriously extremely tight here. Where the hell are we going? We got up until there was a window. He opened it and went out. "Hey, take my hand." I took his hand and he helped me up. We were standing on a rooftop. Then I saw the most beautiful thing ever. You could see so much from here. The little park of the city, the train station, the shopping center, the trams, simply everything. "Wow.." He came closer. "I knew you would like it." I smiled. I smiled so often today because of him. It felt like I know this guy since ages, although it's been just a half day.
He sat down on the edge of the rooftop, his feet hanging down. "Come here", he said. I was afraid and hesitated. "Come here, beautiful. I'll save you if something happens.", he smirked. I carefully sat down next to him. "It's pretty h-high.", I said shaking. "Do you have a fear of heights?", he asked me. To be honest, yes, a bit. I always get paranoid that something will happen when I'm higher than second floor level. "Not really..", I said. "Any other fears?" This was a really personal question. I'm afraid of lots of things, but I don't know what fears I have. So I just sat there thinking. Then he suddenly said: "I'm afraid of dying with not having lived." I looked into his face. "Oh.. yeah, this would actually suck." He laughed. "Yup. I just want to see a lot from the world and do things I like. You know?" I totally got him. I was the same. I just didn't have the motivation yet to do something else than reading and sleeping. "What are your dreams?", I asked him. "Uhm... I want to randomly go somewhere by train with a person I love. Go camping and do a campfire. Seriously, I've never done this. And I want to go to Europe. I've never been there. This are like really big wishes of me. And you, my dear, what are your wishes?" He impressed me. He's just a perfect guy. "I want to go to Japan. I've always loved the culture and I'm just interested in everything that has to do with Japan. And I want to publish my own book.. I'm weird." I looked down. "Oh my god, you write? I love writing.", he said happily. "Oh my god, seriously? That's amazing!" He put his hand into his pocket and fished out a crumpled box of marlboros. He got one cigarette and put it into his mouth. "Want one?", he asked me. I usually don't smoke, but sometimes, just sometimes it's okay and right now there's nothing that I would rather do than smoking on a rooftop with Damien. "Sure." He handed me one and there we were. Sitting on a rooftop, watching the sunset and smoking. It was perfect.
