Back home I was expecting thousands of questions from my mom, but she wasn't there. It was already evening and usually she tells me when she's off to her friends. I took my phone and called her. "Mom?" "Hey honey, sorry, I can't talk now, I will be home around 12AM, love you", she said in a hurry. "I...", before I could say something she already hung up. That was weird. What was happening? Before I could even think about it, I heard the WhatsApp tone. "Hey. Thought I would text you already. Watcha doin', beautiful?" It was from Damien. I barely get any text messages, except from my mum of course. I felt kinda honored. I answered as soon as possible: "Hey Damien. I'm preparing some dinner and I need to get some work done, usual stuff. What about you?" Before I could even put the phone away and really prepare some food, he answered. "Oh then I won't disturb you any further. Good night, talk to you tomorrow!"

I put the phone away and prepared some microwave macaroni. I sat in front of the TV and ate my noodles. I hate the TV program, it's just promoting stupidness of people. Books are so much better, but it's hard to eat and read at the same time I guess. When I was finished, I washed my plate and got into my room. I looked on my phone. There was still this message from Damien I had to open. I decided to reply: "You don't disturb me haha, what are you doing tomorrow?" I let myself fall on the bed. "I guess I will just sleep and then maybe play some football with a friend..let me guess, you will go to school and then come home and read?" I imagined him saying this while smirking. "Sounds nice. You're like hundert percent right!" I got my homework out. Who invented this shit? It's time wasting and doesn't make me any smarter. I started with english, because writing texts is the only thing I like in school. When I finished it, I did my physics homework. Worst thing ever! I noticed another message from Damien. "Hey by the way, today was really nice, thank you, Jess!" It was the first time he called me by my name. "Aw, same here!" I slipped into my pajamas, brushed my teeth, grabbed a book and laid into my bed. I put my phone away and smiled. Damien is so amazing and I can't believe this day really happened. When I decided to switch the light out, I heard someone slowly opening the door. Mom!

She tried to be quiet, so I guess she's thinking I'm already sleeping. I acted like I'm sleeping, to avoid talking with her now. She got up the stairs and suddenly I realised she wasn't alone. What? Who is that? "Hey,you need to leave now. Jess shouldn't know you're here.", my mom said whispering. "I will. Hope I can see you again soon. I love you, Melanie." Dad! I permanently recognized this voice. I can't believe my mom is meeting with dad again, oh my god. "I love you too, Jack." Then I heard them kissing. "Can't I really stay a bit more?", dad said. "No, I'm sorry. Soon we can maybe live together again. I just need to convince Jess you really changed." They kissed again and then my dad left the house. I was shocked. Why didn't my mom tell me about this? I was really mad. Suddenly my door was opened. I closed my eyes and acted like I was in deep sleep. Actually I couldn't sleep the whole night. I weltered myself back and forth all the time until 4AM. Then I decided to turn the light on and read, until I suddenly heard my phone beeping. Who would text me at 4AM?? It was Damien. "Good morning, Jess. It's not really morning yet, but when you read this it'll probably be morning, so good morning, beautiful, have a nice day!" I couldn't help but smile. I replied: "Why the heck are you awake? And thank you, this is really cute!" He replied in seconds. "Huh, you are also awake? What's wrong? I'm just having a bad insomnia since months." I used to have insomnia too. I was too afraid of the nightmares I could have if I fall asleep. "Ouh, I know what it's like, it really sucks. I'm just having a bad night, it's fine."

"Is really everything fine? If there's something that disturbs you, you can just tell me. I'm a good listener, reader, whatever." How cute is that? "No seriously, everything's good, thank you anyway." I sat on my sill and waited for the sunrise. When it finally happened, I took a photo and sent it to Damien with the message: "Go look outside! It looks so beautiful." He replied: "I'm also watching the sunrise right now, it looks perfect." I smiled and kept on watching at the sun slowly coming out and putting the earth in its spell.
