It was the end of an exciting day at the Demon Slayer corps. Nezuko had been asked by Rengoku to accompany him on a mission, and having grown to love and respect him, she gradually said yes. Now they were returning back with pride and happiness.
Nezuko: (Estatic) Wow! That was so cool! Thanks for bringing me with you, Rengoku~San!
Kyojuro: *Smiles* Of course. No problem. You did great out there. I'm very impressed with your skills.
Nezuko: That's only because I have a supercool teacher.
Kyojuro: *Laughs warmly*
Nezuko: *Smiles, then frowns*
Kyojuro: *Notices* Nezuko, what's wrong? You were just smiling just then. Now you're frowning.
Nezuko: (Concerned) I'm sorry. I'm just worried about Tanjiro that's all. He's been sad lately. I asked him what was wrong, but he won't tell me anything. He's always insiting that he's fine, but he isn't. He's not fine, Rengoku!
Kyojuro: I see. He did seem sad when I asked him if I could take you on one of my missions. It was as if he didn't trust me to protect you. Something's definitely bothering him.
Nezuko: Oh, what could that be? Every time I look at him, he looks like he'll burst into tears at any moment. It makes me wanna cry seeing him like that. We have to do something, Rengoku~San!
Kyojuro: Don't worry, young Nezuko. We'll think of something. Hey, I'll be off tomorrow. How about I come over and spend time with you and your brother. I can try to make him feel better.
Nezuko: *Brightens up* That's a great idea, Rengoku~San! Tanjiro's bound to smile with you around.
With that, Nezuko and Rengoku finally reached the Kamaboko House. Having safely escorted her back home, Rengoku bid the little sweetheart goodbye and made his way back to his estate. As for Nezuko, she turned to open the door to her house. But something wasn't right.
Nezuko: Why are the lights off? Did the guys decide to go to bed early? That's not like them.
Nezuko pushed the slide door open and turned on the lights, only to find a startling surprise waiting for her in the darkness. Before her very eyes, her two friends Zenitsu and Inosuke were lying unconscious on the floor, and Tanjiro was nowhere to be found. Someone had attacked them, but who?
Nezuko: *Startled* Oh no! Inosuke. *Rushes to his aid and tries to wake him up* Inosuke! What happened to you and Zenitsu? Where is Tanjiro?
Fortunately, in his subconsciousness, Inosuke could hear Nezuko's voice, and he did his best to give her an answer.
Inosuke: *Unconcious* N...Nezuko...run!
Nezuko: Run? Why?
Inosuke: D...Danger...Not...safe...
Nezuko: What danger? (Worried) Inosuke, who did this to you?
???: He won't be able to tell you I'm afraid. *Nezuko turns her head* But I will...
Without warning, a strong forced object struck Nezuko in the head, forcing her to pass out.

When Nezuko woke up, she found herself in an undesirable position. She was tied up and unable to move. It was hard to take in her surroundings being trapped on her side.
Nezuko: W-Where am I? Daytime? How long was I out? *Looks around* What's going on?
Sanemi: *Slams his fist into her head* Silence, you foul creature! Your days of scum are over.
