Sci held tightly onto his clipboard and clicked his pen. Today would be his first underwater exploration, and his task, to study leviathans. It was pretty rare to see even a glimpse of a leviathan, so he made sure not to get his hopes up to much. Sci looked over at his exploration partners. Maddy and Sam. They had both been in his collage classes for marine biology. Maddy had always been hot girl in his class; dark brown curly hair with a blue streak, square glasses balanced perfectly on her button nose, smooth almond skin freckled with dark freckles, and bright amber eyes. Sam had always been the class clown, and a jock. Doesn't seem like the type of guy to be interested in leviathans. Sam had messy blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and light peach skin. Maddy and Sam are both humans, but that didn't bother Sci. As long as they focused on the task at hand, he was sure they would get along. There was a loud splash as their submarine was submerged underwater. Sci watched as the surface faded away, and the light disappeared. "What level are leviathans usually found?" Sam asked, pushing past Sci to see out the front window. "No one knows." Maddy shrugged, pulling out a pack of gum. "Oh! Nice! Give me some!" Sam pushed past Sci to run over to Maddy's gum. Maddy sighed and rolled her eyes, but she gave him a piece anyways. Sci strained to see through the darkness of the water. Maybe leviathans are so hard to find because it's so dark down here. Maddy walked up to the front to join him. "I've always wanted to see a leviathan in person." Maddy told him. Sci nodded in agreement. "I've only ever seen photos. I just want to see one up close." Maddy put her hand up against the glass. "I hope we can find one." She sighed. "Don't get your hopes up. They're really hard to spot." Sci told her. "I know, but a girl can dream." Maddy smiled. Suddenly a fish came into view. "Fish!" Sam said, pushing past Sci and Maddy. Maddy glared at him, but he didn't seem to notice. The fish slowly swam past, then there was a flash, and the fish was gone. "What was that?" Maddy whispered. Sci held his breath. Was it a... Fish blood rose infront of the window, then a face came into sight. Sci gasped and stepped back. A leviathan. The leviathan came into full view. He was holding half the fish. He gave them a sideways glance, then swam up to the glass. The leviathan pressed a hand against the glass. Sci could see him more clearly now. The leviathan resembled a skeleton, he had a crack over one of his eyes along with a few cracks on his ribs and arms, and he had a koi-tail (a rare thing). Maddy cautiously pressed her hand against the leviathan's. After a few moments the koi leviathan swam off. Everyone was silent for a long moment. "Holy shit." Maddy whispered. "Was that a leviathan?" Sam asked. Maddy and Sci nodded. "Oh wow." Maddy breathed. Sci stared into the ocean. He had seen a leviathan.
Red looked up at the weird land-walker contraption. He wondered how it worked. Red had tried to look into it and saw land-walkers, which was super cool. He didn't think land-walker could go underwater, and they all looked super happy to see him. Red twirled and swam back up to the contraption. He swam up to the top and laid down. Is this a boat of some sort? Red crawled down the peer into the contraption again. He thought it was awesome that they had an invisible wall on it. Red watched them talk in their weird land-walker language. They looked super happy and excited. Then Red scented food. Red tapped on the invisible wall and they all looked at him. Red stuck his tongue out and pointed to the food. The girl land-walker held up the food and gave his a weird look. Red nodded and bit at the invisible wall. He wanted to strange land-walker food. The girl land-walker walked over to a hole and dropped the food in it. The food scent was stronger now. Red swam towards it, grabbed it, and put it in his mouth. He looked into the hole it had came from, but it was closed now. Red swam back to the front. "Thank you strange tailless beings!" Red said before swimming away. "Red!" Red looked over to see Dust calling to him behind some rocks. Red swam to him. "Red! What were you doing to close to the land-walker submarine?" Dust hissed. "Oohh! Submarine! That's what it's called." Red's tail fins twitched eagerly. "You shouldn't be anywhere near it. Poaching season is coming soon and you don't want to get caught up in that." Dust scolded. "Why not?" Red asked. Dust sighed and grabbed Red's arm, dragging him away. Red didn't know what type of leviathan Dust was, but Dust's tail was a gray color with a blueish tint. Red thought he might be some kind of shark hybrid. Dust was also missing half his face. Red didn't know how that happened and he didn't asked since it was a touchy subject for Dust. Dust and Red returned to their cave. Red lazed his way over to his seaweed bed and curled up. Dust soon joined him. Red yawned and soon drifted off to sleep.
