Today is the talent show at school
I was walking the hall when I was pushed into the lockers and I looked up and saw Travis
Hey, freak. Travis said and I shoved him back
I'm gonna tell you one time, Travis, leave me alone. I said
And I am tired of you telling me what to do. He said and punched me making me fall and they kicked my side and walked away
Andrew! You okay? Courtney asked and helped me up
Yeah, it's fine, I'm used to it. I said and fixed my clothes
Why do you let them pick on you like that, I thought they were your friends? Courtney asked
Them, no, Cindy is my only other friend here, we grew up together when I moved here a few years ago. I said
What happened to your biological father? She asked
He died, I barely knew him, he always focused on work other than his only kid. I said
After he died I went into foster care and a year later I got the scar then I came here. I said and looked down the hall and saw Cindy
That is when I met Cindy, she took me out of a dark place. I said then saw Cindy and Jenny going over to Yolanda
See you later, new girl. I said and tried to walk away but she grabbed my arm
Maybe we could hang out sometime, and get to know each other. She said
Uh, I don't know, new girl, how about I think about it. I said
Okay. She said with a smile
Yolanda? I'm talking to you. Who painted that? Was it you? Cindy asked Yolanda about the painting on her locker
Then Courtney started walking over but I grabbed her arm
No. Yolanda said
You should have never dated Henry once you knew that I liked him. You are a nobody. I am somebody, and I'm never gonna let you forget that. Even your own family knows what you really are. Slut. Cindy said and Courtney walked over
I have to say, slut-shaming is really damaging. Not to mention, it sets women back, like, 50 years. Courtney said and I walked over
Courtney stop. I said and then went over to Cindy
Okay, well, nobody cares what you think, new girl. Cindy said
Come on, Cindy, let's go. I said and she grabbed my hand and we walked away and Jenny followed us
What were you doing with, new girl? Cindy asked
Nothing. I said
Why were you with her, Andrew? Cindy asked while she backed me up against the lockers
I don't need to tell you anything, after all you're just a selfish daddy's girl, looking for people who don't hate her, knowing that even her one friend thinks she is a backstabbing bitch. I said and she pushed me against the lockers
Whatever, I don't need you, have fun dealing with Travis on your own, because I'm done. She said and started to walk away
Cindy, I didn't mean that. I said and tried to grab her hand but she kept walking away with Jenny who was giving me a scolding look
Cindy! I yelled and she ignored me
Dang it. I said to myself then punched the locker hard and it made a dent
I ignored the stares and walked out the school doors
