Prologue

Gwen POV
[six years ago]

"Ben you can't go alone!" I said as I grabbed his arm, "Gwen, stay out of this! Vilgax is my fight." he said as he took my key and unlocked the Omnitryx, and began to walk away. "Hey Gewn, do me a favor and watch (y/n) for me. If he's anything like his dad, he's gonna be trouble." he said with a slight laugh, "Just keep an eye on him for me." he said before turning into Alien X and walked into battle.

After thirteen hours of constant battling, Ben blew himself and Vilgax up in an effort to save the world. He saved the world, but in doing so, we lost a hero. "I'm so sorry sweetie. You lost your dad." I said as I tried to call (y/nn)'s mom, but she didn't answer.

For six weeks I tried to call (y/n)'s mom, but she only answered to yell at me for calling so much! Eventually, she said she wanted nothing to do with Ben or her son which is why she didn't go to the funeral. "If she's just gonna abandon you. Then I'll happily take you in and raise you. How could she just abandon an eleven-month-old?" I said as I rocked (y/n).

[six years later]

I was at work when I got a call from (y/n)'s school. "Mis. Tennyson, thank you for coming. I regret to inform you that your son has been expelled due to repeatedly disrupting class and getting into fights." the principal said, "I'm so sorry, he gets that from his father. He was the same way as a kid. I'll talk to him about his behavior." I said, "Come on (y/n)!" I said as I grabbed (y/n)'s ear and dragged him away.

"OW! MOMMY THAT HURTS!" (y/n) cried, "Good! Remember that pain next time you pick a fight!" I said angrily before I noticed how sad he looked, "You're a good boy, so what's going on with you?" I asked, "They had it coming. They wouldn't stop making fun of me 'cause I don't have a dad." he said, "I get why that made you angry, but do you think he'd be proud of you fighting?" I asked, "Yeah." he said, "And why's that?" I asked, "Cause I won." he said I was about to scold him, but I got an alert about an Oryctini causing havoc. "Honey I have to go to work, there's no time to drop you off with the sitter, so you'll have to come with me." I said, "Wow, I get to watch my mom fix a clogged toilet, so cool." he said sarcastically as we drove off.

"Hey, I got the call. Brought your gear." Kevin said, "Thank you, Kevin, I know it's a pain, but could you take (y/n) back to the office for me, I'll be there to pick him up once this is taken care of." I said as I tossed Kevin my keys, "Bye sweetie, be good for Kevin or you'll be grounded for another two weeks." I said as I kissed (y/n)'s cheek.

(y/n) POV

"So, uh, I'm Kevin...I'm friends with your Mom." Kevin said nervously, "You're either Mom's secret boyfriend or one of her many exes." I said, "Yeah something like that." he said as we drove off.

We went to an office building called Tennyson Plumbing Co. "Wait here, I'll be back with some smoothies." Kevin said as he left me in the break room. I decided to go explore and found Mom's office. "There are so many pictures in here." I said as I picked up an old picture, "That's Mom, and there's Kevin, but who's that?" I said as I put the picture down. I took a seat in Mom's chair and found a small button under the armrest. I pressed it and the floor opened and the area I was sitting descended. I found myself in a strange basement. "What is this place?" I said as I explored.

Kevin POV

"Alright, not sure what flavor you like so..." I said as I entered the breakroom and found (y/n) was gone. "Oh, crap." I said.

(y/n) POV

"Wow, is Mom a spy or something?" I said as I walked into a large room and got scanned, 'VERIFIED PERSONNEL. [Y/N] TENNYSON. OMNI-VAULT ACCESS, GRANTED.' a computer said as a wall opened revealing a long pathway leading to a hovering device suspended over a seemingly bottomless pit. I walked over to the device and found it was a watch.
