Police officers bustled around the island, retrieving every dead body & collecting whatever evidence they could find. Paramedics tended to the the injured. Heather stayed by Alejandro's side while the paramedics took him away. "I'll visit you in the hospital." she whispered to him. "Get well soon." "Don't worry about me, Heather. I'll be fine."

A policewoman named Officer Sanders quizzed the remaining campers about the events that transpired. "The killer is a man named Charles McLean. He used to work for the mafia, but he came here to murder us all." stated Trent. "Yes, we are aware of Mr. McLean's criminal past. Unfortunately, he has escaped with all his goons. He must have left right when we arrived." " You better track him down," said Gwen. "He's a complete psychopath, as long as he walks free, no one is safe." "We will try our level best, Ms. Jones, but Charles McLean has eluded our grasp for years." "I wanna get payback for what he did to all of us!" said Leshawna angrily, her hands curled into fists. "Ms. Edwards, I understand you're upset, but you need to calm down." said Officer Sanders gently. She then got up & said, "Alright, I think I've found out all I need to know. Thank you for your help." Then she left.

A paramedic had offered him hot tea, saying it would sooth their nerves. Gwen absent-mindedly stared into her cup. Trent sat down next to her. "Hey, you OK?" he asked. Gwen looked up at him. His emerald-green eyes just as enchanting as she remembered. She felt a jolt of adrenaline pass through her veins that she hadn't felt since she kissed Duncan for the first time in the confessional. Then she finally spoke, "Truth be told; I'm not. I'm not OK. How can anyone be OK after what just happened?" She suddenly felt hot tears pour down her face. She buried her face in Trent's chest. He gently stroked her back, like he always used to do when she was upset. She felt all of her emotions flow out through the tears. The grief she felt over losing her friends so suddenly & brutally, her anger at Charles McLean for putting them through this hell, her fear of what he might do in the future. After a few minutes, she wiped her tears away. Trent lightly caressed her face. Without thinking much, she wrapped her arms around him & kissed him passionately. Once they broke away, Trent smiled at her & said, "At least we still have each other."
