Epilogue: Part 1

Heather was sitting in the hospital waiting room, drumming her fingers on her lap & waiting for news about Alejandro. She hadn't been this anxious since the incident with the volcano in Season 3. Alejandro disappeared for a year & didn't contact her at all. It was only later that she found out the Chris had basically kidnapped him & stuffed him into a robot suit. She suddenly wished that she had been nicer to him after that. While she was lost in her memories, a nurse had come in, holding a clipboard. She immediately stood up & asked her, "Any news?" Without looking up from the board, she asked, "Patient name?" "Alejandro Burromuerto." "If we ever get married, I am NOT changing my last name to Burromuerto." Heather thought to herself. The nurse replied, "He's now awake. You can go see him." She quickly thanked the nurse & hurried into his room. There lay Alejandro, barley awake, hooked up to all sorts of machines. When he looked up & saw Heather, his face broke into a grin. "Hola, mi amor." he said. Heather planted a kiss on his forehead. "How are you doing?" "Better now that you're here." he said. She rolled her eyes. "We've been dating for three years & the cheesy pickup lines haven't stopped." Alejandro took her hands & said " And they won't stop anytime soon." "No, but seriously, how are you doing?" Heather gently put her hand on Alejandro's chest. He winced in pain. She quickly drew her hand away & apologized. "Don't worry, I'm fine mi amor." he replied. "Compared to the pain of being burnt alive by lava, this is pretty mild." "You're probably the first person to call a bullet wound to the chest 'pretty mild'." Heather said. Her face fell. "I- I'm sorry, I guess, for not being more nice to you after the lava incident. It must've been terrible" Alejandro chuckled. "Apologizing? Who are you & what have you done to Heather Long?" Heather lightly smacked him on the arm. "Shut up, I'm trying to be nice!" Alejandro laughed again. "Believe me Heather, it's more concerning when you're nice. I love you because you're rude & overbearing." "I love you too, I guess." she said. She smiled & kissed him. Despite everything that had happened, she was happy.

Duncan had been waiting in the hospital for two hours, refusing to leave until he heard some news about Courtney. Whenever a doctor or nurse would walk by, he would interrogate them about her condition. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, he was finally given the precious piece of news that he had been waiting for: Courtney was awake & OK. He burst into the room. It seemed like she had just woken up, blinking & rubbing her eyes. "Hey, princess." he said. Courtney rolled her eyes "Have I died & gone to hell?" she said angrily. Duncan raised his hands defensively. "Woah, chillax princess, I just came to see how you're doing." "I'm doing fine, thank you. There, I said it. Can you go now?" "I don't get why you're so mad at me!" Duncan said, his voice rising. "Uh, maybe because you cheated on me?!" "That was over three years ago!" "Well, I'm still mad!" "Why are you still mad?" Courtney's voice fell. "Cause that's how much I cared." she said, her voice cracking. Duncan's expression softened. He sat down & said, "Look, I'm sorry. Cheating on you with Gwen was the biggest mistake of my life. I won't even try to justify it. If you want to forgive me, I'll be the happiest person on earth. But if not, that's totally fine." By the end of his little speech, there were tears forming in his eyes as well. Courtney kissed him & said, "I forgive you." Duncan was at a loss for words. "Th-thank you." he stuttered. They kissed again, then they talked for hours about everything & anything. Half of it didn't even make sense. Much like their relationship. 

A/N: This chapter came out a lot longer than intended! But there you have it. Some hopefully-not-crappy romance stuff. I had a lot of fun writing this chapter, especially the Aleheather part, cos its one of my favourite ships. Hope you have as much fun reading it. Until next time!
