For the Cinderheart and Hollystar thing where Cinderheart and Hollystar are together but Cinderheart has kits, well it's because Lionblaze and her broke up on good terms, and are now close friends. On the other hand, Hollystar and Cinderheart are in a very healthy relationship, JUST LET ME SHIP THEM >:(

Briarlight held her breath. Him again? She groaned aloud and dragged Jayfeather out of the water with one paw-he was very skinny.

Jayfeather heaved himself to his paws. "I'm-"

"I'm not taking apologies right now!" Briarlight hissed at him. He shrunk beneath her angry words.

"-sorr..." Jayfeather spun to the ground.

_

Briarlight lifted Jayfeather onto her back. Stupid idiot! Why does he make me feel like this when he's so difficult?

She ran as far as she could, but suddenly she collapsed into the snow and panted. Too much weight! Briarlight thought. She sat heaving beside fainted Jayfeather for a few moments.

_

Briarlight watched in horror as Jayfeather's eyes blinked awake. "AH! NO! BACK TO SLEEP!" She cried. But Jayfeather was already wide awake, confused, and probably ready to break the rest of her bones, too.

"What... what are you doing on top of me?"

"Trying to figure out what's wrong with you! I... I'm trying to heal you!" Briarlight cried desperately.

"You dumbass! You have to press on my chest really hard!" Jayfeather rasped. Briarlight felt a tiny bit dissapointed that she couldn't stay on Jayfeather for any longer. Okay, fine, she growled in her head.

She got off of her crush and then re-positioned onto half of his belly, and then absolutely whacked him on the chest. A combination of blood, water, and puke flew out of his mouth. Mostly water. It was disgusting. Briarlight almost hurled herself.

"Thank you, Briarlight. You just saved my life." Jayfeather sat up and met his blind gaze with hers, looking her directly in the eyes.

"I-I thought you didn't like me that much..." she stammered nervously.

"Yes, but a cat deserves an award for saving a

life whether I like the cat or not," Jayfeather replied softly. "And... and you don't actually now how much I really like you. You're my friend. I'd love it if it stayed that way."

Briarlight's heart leapt at this news. He likes me! We're friends! But he still hurt her feelings a lot. He was basically telling her that she was stupid and didn't know anything. Just because her legs didn't work didn't mean that she couldn't know things! Briarlight knew that Jayfeather didn't think that she was stupid because of her legs, but she really, really wanted something to blame in that situation, so she blamed her legs.

Stupid legs! Why am I like this? I try to be happy for everyone, but they don't know how much it hurts just to... to live, to walk, to serve my Clan, that's easy for everyone else! Briarlight had always been grumpy about that topic, and almost every time it came up she swore, even though she never liked swearing.

Anyways, even though Briarlight loved Jayfeather, he just hurt her feelings badly. It made her sad, it made her angry, and it made her swear. She swore at Jayfeather. Her crush. The only cat she would swear at willingly was a Dark Forest warrior, or Darktail or one of his rogues.

"I would, too. But you do understand that you hurt my feelings pretty bad. You made me feel stupid, and you had done this so many times it was actually becoming... jarring. With pain. I mean, you're my friend, but we can't really be friends if we go on like this, can we?" Briarlight settled for that.

"No, we can't. So I think we need to take a break from each other and start off fresh. From now on, I'll sleep in the back portion of the medicine den, and you can sleep in the front. I'll play with kits all day for a moon-a moon's break, got it?" She answered herself.

Jayfeather was silent, as though surprised that she made such an important decision so fast, and seemingly off the top of her head. He doesn't know that I've been thinking about something like this since we moved in together.

"Yeah. That sounds good. Thank you, Briarlight. I... I hope my the end of it, I can get better for you," he mewed finally.

"So... will you walk me back to camp? The sun's setting, we'd better go to sleep. I'll need energy for the kits of the Clan!" Briarlight sang, dragging herself through the snow with Jayfeather at her side.

This will be good. I'll have time to think about him, and how I feel about him. And he'll have time to better himself, so that when we might get together, he'll be better for me, she decided.

_

As Briarlight and Jayfeather appeared in the camp, seemingly all of the cats sighed of relief. Squirrelflight, Lionblaze, and Hollystar were the first to pad over to them and see what was going on.

"I was just about to send out a search party for you! Where were you?" Hollystar demanded.

"We were worried about you," Lionblaze added.

"AND I WAS ABOUT TO HAVE A MENTAL BREAKDOWN!" Squirrelflight called, Leafpool at her hard on her paws, yelling something similar.

Millie, Graystripe, and Bumblestripe came, and Cinderheart was shaking kits off of her pelt when she came to her girlfriend's side.

"Jayfeather and I got into an argument, I got upset, stormed over to the lake. Jayfeather tried to apologize, but he fell into the lake, and I had to pull him out, and then he fainted and it was really hard getting the water out of his lungs but we did it!" Briarlight called to the gathered cats.

The crowd slowly withered away, and soon it was only Squirrelflight, Hollystar, her girlfriend Cinderheart, and Lionblaze. Cinderheart's kits also came up to them.

"Where were you, uncle Jayfeather?" Splashkit asked, tipping his head to the side.

"Yeah, and is Briarlight going to be our aunt soon?" Honeykit pressed.

"Why's Briarlight stuck to your tail?" Flowerkit asked at the same time, his tail lashing rapidly with interest.

"And why'd you fall into the lake AGAIN, Jayfeather?" Pebblekit looked up at Jayfeather sweetly.

Cinderheart shut her kits up with a wave of her tail and nodded her head in apology.

"I can answer all of those questions, kits! He was hurt, Splashkit, and no, Honeykit, and because we're friends, Flowerkit, and because sometimes some cats are clumsy, Pebblekit." Briarlight dipped her head respectfully to the kits. I really wish I had some of my own.

She dragged herself into the back part of the medicine den where she sat for a moment.

It's all my legs. Why are they like this? I wish they weren't. Of course, who would I be with my back legs? A normal fucking warrior, that's what. I'd hunt and fight and share my courage with the warriors around me, not just kits queens and medicine cats! I'd actually be fucking useful, Briarlight thought, turning to the wall.

Jayfeather walked into the back part, seemingly summoned by her thoughts. "If you're worried about whether you're useful or not again, I'm sure you don't want to hear the same shit over and over again. But Briarlight, you make everyone here happy. You entertain Alderpaw, getting him off my back a little bit, and you're someone for Leafpool to talk to when I'm busy, and the kits appreciate you a lot. You're very useful to me here. I appreciate you more than the kits. If it gives you any assurance in yourself," he mewed suddenly.

"You'd be you, with or without your legs. And frankly, I've come to like you quite a fair amount without them. So keep that in mind." He padded out of the back part of the medicine.

Thank you, Jayfeather. It... it really helps.
