The Voice in the Night

As Alexis is sleeping she soon awakes to a scream before realizing it is Korra and quickly runs into her room.

"Korra what's wrong!? I heard you scream!" Alexis asks worriedly as she sees Korra petting Naga's head.

"It's alright Alexis. I just had a bad dream. Go back to sleep." Korra says as she looks at Alexis.

"Korra I know that face. I've had too many nightmares myself about things to know when someone is afraid. I won't ask you tell me what it was about and I know you won't admit you were afraid but it was only a dream. No matter how real they might seem they can't hurt you." Alexis says as she goes over and sits beside Korra.

"I know. It just seemed so real." Korra says as she looks down before Alexis shifts to wolf form and lays down beside her.

"I understand. Try to get some sleep Korra. I'll stay in here with you tonight." Alexis says as Korra nods and lays back down to sleep.

*Timeskip*

"You're doing much better with your techniques and stances Korra." Alexis says the next night as she is watching Korra practice her airbender techniques while listening to the radio.

"Thanks. I've been pract-" Korra then gets cut off as she and Alexis hear Amon come on the radio.

"Good evening my fellow Equalists. This is your leader Amon. As you have heard the Republic Council has voted to make me public enemy number one. Proving once again that the bending oppressors of this city will stop at nothing to quash our revolution. But we cannot be stopped. Our numbers grow stronger by the day. You no longer have to live in fear. The time has come for benders to experience fear." Amon says before the radio goes to static while Korra gives a look of fear.

"Okay I think that's enough of the radio." Alexis says as she quickly goes over and turns the radio off upon seeing Korra's face.

*Timeskip*

"This food looks delicious Pema." Alexis says as she sits down with Pema after having helped her set the table for dinner.

"Thank you Alexis." Pema says as she smiles before everyone bows their heads.

"We are grateful for this delicious food, for happiness, for compassion, and-" Tezin then gets cut off as Tarrlok comes into the room.

"I'm not interrupting am I?" Tarrlok asks as he bows.

"This is my home Tarrlok. We're about to eat dinner." Tenzin says as he stands up to face Tarrlok.

"Good because I am absolutely famished. Airbenders never turn away a hungry guest am I right?" Tarrlok asks as Tenzin glares at him before sighing.

"I suppose." Tenzin says as he sits down while Pema scowls at Tenzin who gives a helpless look.

"Ah you must be the famous Avatar Korra. It is truly an honor. I am Councilman Tarrlok representative from the Northern Water Tribe." Tarrlok says as he walks over to Korra and bows.

"Nice to meet you." Korra says as she and Alexis stand up before Korra bows.

"You must be her wolf shifter friend Alexis. I have heard a great deal about you as well." Tarrlok says as he looks at Alexis.

"Pleased to meet you." Alexis says kindly as she bows before the three sit down.

"Why do you have three ponytails? And how come you smell like a lady? You're weird." Ikki says as she leans over the table towards Tarrlok and sniffs the air.

"Well aren't you ... precocious? So I've been reading all about your adventures in the papers. Infiltrating Amon's rally. Now that took some real initiative." Tarrlok says as he looks at Korra.
