this takes place before hobie and the reader start dating

reader pov!

i sign as i hear the familiar noise of heavy boots make their way inside.  hobie was finally home.

"how was it?" i asked, sitting up from the couch.

"s' fine, just the same" hobie replied wandering into his room to change.

for the past year, hobie and i have been living together.  we've been friends since secondary school and hobie took me in after my parents had kicked me out.  i've tried looking for another place to stay but every time i bring it up, hobie shuts it down.  using the excuse that "i don't want to have you live on your own around these parts," when we both know he just doesn't want me to leave.

that's besides the point, because today we agreed that after hobie had finished his duties in the city, we would do piercings together.  this was a once a month occurrence and needless to say, i was very exited.  this time, hobie wanted me to do one of his piercings.

"any problems here?" hobie said, coming out of his room with a tray that contained the piercing supplies. he was wearing grey sweats without a shirt.  even though i've seen him dressed like this countless of times before, it always made me blush internally.  

"nope!" i replied smiling, looking at the tray.  

"good," he said, sitting down facing me, putting his hands behind him, leaning back. "okay who first, me or you?" he asked.

"you first," i spoke with excitement in my voice.  "you seem almost too happy about this sweetheart" he chuckled.

i ignored him and grabbed the needle for a simple nose piercing.  sterilizing it, i looked at him and made eye contact.  "what side do you want it on?" i asked

"whatever side you think would look best darlin" he responded, knowing that nickname made me blush.

even though i tried to fight it off, i started blushing. "fuck you prick," i said grabbing a marker and lined it up with his right side.

he laughed, throwing his head back and then looked at me again, watching me softly while i tried to get the right lining for the piercing.  i marked it then grabbed the needle.  

he sat up straight and placed his hand on my thigh. i looked at it for a second then went back to focusing on his piercing. 

"ready?" i asked, "yep" he said.  "1, 2,

"3."

hobie squeezed my thigh, wincing slightly from the pain.  "all done!" i said, holding up a mirror.

"how do you like it?" i asked, he smiled and turned to me. "it's lovely" he grinned.

"your turn now," he said picking up a needle.  sheer panic covered my face and hobie could tell.  he started laughing like crazy and placed his forehead on my shoulder.  "come onn he said, "if you do it you might get a little reward," he whispered into my ear.  

im glad he wasn't looking at my face because i was bright red.  somehow, i managed to respond but this time with some boldness.

"oh yeah? what kind of reward are we thinking?" i said back.  he took his chin off my shoulder and smirked at me.  "well we would have to find out once we get there wont we sweetheart?" he said.  i raised my eyebrows and smiled, "deal then"

he then grabbed the marker and marked the bridge of my nose, deciding for himself where he would put the piercing.  then he grabbed my hand and placed it on his leg.  grabbing the needle, he looked at me, making sure i was okay.

i nodded and he put the needle in without warning.

"fuck!" i exclaimed, grabbing onto his leg.  he put the piercing in and i sighed, "not so bad was it?" hobie asked.

"could i at least get a warning next time?" i said, taking my hand off of his leg.

"nah," he said.  he put all the needles and such on the tray then set the tray onto the coffee table.  then, he picked me up by my waist and sat me onto his lap, forcing my legs to wrap around his waist. 

i was blushing like mad when i asked, "what's this all about hobie?" he looked up at me and smiled, his head getting closer.

"your reward" he said leaning in more. my breath hitched. i thought he was kidding, we have always been just friends, but recently he's been getting more and more touchy.  just an arm laying on the top of the couch when we would watch something, then it would drop to around me. or just a tad bit longer hugs.  not saying i didn't enjoy it, i mean who wouldn't? i've had a crush on him forever but he was always a flirt so i didn't think much of it. but now, now it was serious.

i started leaning in, and our lips connected.  it didn't last as long as i wanted it to. only about 7 seconds. we pulled away, he opened his eyes and i opened mine, then we both immediately went back for another. this time it lasted longer, it was more passionate and i never wanted it to end. 

my hand traveled to his hair, and one of his hands slipped from my waist to my cheek.  i felt like i was on cloud 9.  we pulled away and he made eye contact, "you dont know how long i've waited to do that." he said, moving some hair out of my face.  i giggled a bit and said, "i'm glad you did it." i rested my head on his shoulder, burying it into his neck.  he moved his hands to my back, and i moved mine to around his neck.

we stayed like that for god knows how long, i almost fell asleep but before i could hobie picked me up, one hand under me and another on my back, carrying me to his bedroom.  i've slept in there a few times, some with him because he felt bad for me being on the couch, some without when i missed him because he went on a spidey trip as i like to call them.

he placed me under the covers, then got under with me, pulling them over us.  he then pulled me closer to him, our legs tangled together with my head under his.  his arm was wrapped around me, and mine wrapped around him.  hobie then placed a kiss to my forehead.

"goodnight love," he said

"goodnight hobs" i replied, getting comfortable, keeping as close as i possibly could to him. 

i heard him chuckle then felt him squeeze me softly.  

things were definitely going to be different from now on.
