Love can leave you empty
Love can make you whole
Love can make or break you
Love is in your soul
-John Peters
Liam and I sit in the library for hours researching the angels and Shadow Slayers. I wanted to learn every inch of who I was becoming. And who I might be.
"Liam looks at this; this text says that a half-blood can be the strongest or the weakest. Stronger because they have two purebloods in them or weaker because they are part human." Liam slides toward me on the couch to read over my shoulder. He leans in and reads the next part.
"Some legends have been told that there is to be a Hybrid; this hybrid is well known for being Human, Angel, and Demon." We both gasp in shock.
"How can that be?" I ask as if he should know the answer, so we continue reading.
"Therefore, the Hybrid has one parent who is half-blooded, and the other parent is pure-blooded. This creature has never been seen nor recorded as existing yet. The gods and goddesses will have created the Hybrid to take down the evilest being when the time comes. Being said, the Hybrid will have the strength and stamina of the angel Micheal, with the ability to with see the future and be a messenger to their people like Gabriel, They will be able to heal the wounded in every way possible as Raphael can, and lastly, they will have the knowledge lent to them by the great angel Uriel." I am stunned at what we are reading. This Hybrid sounds almost too powerful. What great evil will come to us that the gods and goddesses would want to make this thing?
"As this Hybrid contains so much power, they must be careful not to overload their body simultaneously as they are part human. When the time comes, the Hybrid will emerge from the flames of the gods and goddesses to conquer the evil the Hybrid was created to destroy."
Liam finished the last sentence on the page, but as we turned the corner to go on. A missing page halts us.
"What- No! Why are we missing a page?!" I was stunned.
"There was something on that page; somebody didn't want anybody to read," Liam says
"Yeah, I wonder why?" I ponder. Just as we were about to settle back down and read another one of the many knowledgeable books, Jade called our names, we glanced at each, and both yelled...
"FOOD!!" Liam and I dashed toward the door, ran down the hall, and into the dining room like mad people. Ash and Nick were already sitting around the table, waiting for Jade to bring out the dishes she had prepared for us.
"Jade, this is so good!" I exclaimed.
"You have to teach me some of your recipes!" Liam said excitingly; Liam is the chef in our relationship; I couldn't boil simple water in a pan if I wanted to. Nick and Ash were sitting at the far end of the table; they both were reticent. It was nice not hearing a peep from Nick, but you could see Ash's mind battle going on in his head.
"So, we were reading about the archangels in the library, That every Shadow Slayer has to have their blood to be able to wield a weapon. I don't understand that the weapon is supposed to choose you; that way, it can work with you. So how could I pick up Nick's Seraph Blade and use it?" My question seemed to stun everyone.
"The Seraph Blade can be used among any Shadow Slayer, but there are weapons that only the chosen Shadow Slayer may wield. Tomorrow we will go down to the weapons vault and find your weapon. You will need it if we are going to start training." Ash said while cutting into his food.
