Seth set down his cup of McDonalds shakily, frowning as he gulped too much of the hot down the back of his throat.

He sat there. Silent.

We'd both told him about what happened with Adriel. How he got beat up almost to death, how we narrowly escaped Adriel, and how my mobile data plan had finally run out.

"How are you feeling?", I asked sweetly, whipping a tear from my face.

"I don't know how to feel" he said.

His entire torso was wrapped in banadges, including his abs. It was mysterious. It made me wonder if he even had abs after being in a hospital bed for all this time.

It made me wonder how he even had abs.

Did he work out??????????

I chuckled to myself, and Seth shot me a look like I had just gone crazy. Natalie knew better.

It was a sad laugh.

"It's kinda ironic isn't it?" I smiled sadly, stirring my Mcdonalds that had gone lukewarm.

Seth raised an eyebrow. Natalie left the room, maybe to give us space.

I continue on, "That you originally saved me before I went into a coma. Then I saved you and well..."

I scanned my fork up and down at his still hot body.

"I got into a coma?" He rolled his eyes all sexily.

"Yeah."

"Fate has a sense of humor. And I guess I wasn't the only one who changed after the coma."

"What do you mean?" My face flushed, instantly grabbing at my hair. Was it TOO brown???

"No," he let out a wry laugh, "You've adopted the black version of Natalie's wardrobe."

"Oh."

I hadn't really noticed any change except for my black combat boots, rustled hair, black studded earrings, and black eyeliner.

It was kinda gradual. Over the course of ten minutes

"Do you not like it?" I couldn't help but pout. I always pouted when I was just a bit upset and then I'd get sad because I looked like a blown up balloon. "You don't like it."

Seth freezed, almost if all the words were yanked out of his body. Before clearing his throat, "No, that's- not it. It's cute. You're cute."

I blinked. Processing the words slowly like how my organs were processing my oil consumption

Seth continued sipping his mcdonalds like nothing happened, occasionally burning himself and trying to hide it

"Thanks," I said quickly.

I wasn't sure what was happening, a warm feeling fluttered in my chest. I tried not to settle into that thought for too long, after all, he was in a coma. Maybe he was malfunctioning.

"Come on," he said, "Let's finish eating before Natalie comes back and engulfs it all."

I nodded, and we both ate our Mcdonalds as an easy silence settled between us. Besides what he said being a bit awkward, it was nice.

Just eating food, no worry between us. Well...

Except for Adriel.

I breathe out a sigh of relief. But adiren wasn't here right now. It was just us, and the cars swerving by outside even fell silent as I looked at him, healthy and beautiful in his own right, and maybe, just maybe.
