Scene III begins with maki in his lecture hall

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I managed to get my essay finished before lecture started. Although, I wasn't so sure that it was done well, I'd done over half of it sleep deprived with a headache. The professor said that day was to be a free period while she graded all 27 essays. I pulled out my phone, 'Shit, I never responded to Sora's text-' I thought, frantically opening my messages app to apologize. 'To Sora😳; "I'm so sorry for not responding to you last night, my eyes locked shut before I could hit send." Delivered: 9:03am'

I felt so bad, how did I not realize till 3 hours after I had woken up AND checked my phone? I turned off my phone and let my head hit the table, not expecting it to be too loud. "Dude- Are you okay??" I heard a voice next to me ask. I looked up, and the whole lecture hall was staring directly at me. I will admit, I was embarrassed, but I didn't let that get to me. "Yeah, I just didn't sleep too well last night." I lied. Well, I guess it wasn't a lie, I slept in an office chair at a desk all night, no sleep like that could be great.

After that situation, nobody really bothered me all too much. I kept looking at my phone, waiting, hoping, praying that Sora would text me back, and I didn't make myself look like a huge asshole the night before. Then my phone buzzed, it was Sora. 'Sora😳: "All good! I know it was late when I texted you, I didn't really expect you to respond at all till the morning." 9:10am' I stared at my phone shocked, I thought they'd have blocked me assuming I didn't like them.

I replied honestly, 'To Sora😳; "I'm going to be honest, I was up attempting to finish an essay that I ended up finishing this morning" Delivered: 9:13am' Was it annoying to send that kind of thing? God, I have no clue. I looked up, and the kid that was sat next to me had been staring over my shoulder, reading my texts. "What the hell are you doing" I asked, feeling a bit violated. He looked at me like I had just said something so ungodly offensive. "I was just seeing what you were doing" I stared at him, and then said, "Well it's a bit rude to read somebody's private messages, don't you think?" I proceeded to get up, grab my belongings, and moved to a corner of the hall that had a cluster of vacant seats. I looked at my phone again, 9:25am, I had about an hour before my lecture was over. I put my head down on the table, and fell asleep, still exhausted from the night before.
