Stepping off of the bus, Jaxx took in his surroundings. From where he was standing, he could see a sign overhead that read 'Welcome to Camp Radiance', directly underneath the sign there was a dirt path lined with cabins and in the distance he could spot what appeared to be a lake. It looked like an average summer camp to Jaxx, who promptly redirected his attention to the people around him.

The camp counselors were huddled up near the bus, chatting about something. They all wore matching yellow shirts that read 'Happy camper' and blue jeans. Looking around, Jaxx realized he was the only kid standing near the bus. The crowd of kids seemed to have dispersed as they began to talk amongst themselves. He spotted Charli who was talking to a cyan haired kid. Nearby he spotted a kid with lavender hair hiding behind a blond who appeared to be trying and failing to coax him to come out of his hiding spot. A boy with jet black hair wrestled with a girl of a similar hair color, who seemed to be trying to kiss him, and a kid with hair as white as snow stood a few feet away.

Jaxx, who didn't particularly want to start a conversation with any of these kids, decided to stand in the crowd and wait for the counselors to do their thing. He ended up standing a few feet away from the snowy haired kid, who upon closer inspection appeared to be watching the two black haired kids.

It took a few minutes for one of the camp counselors to speak through a megaphone, "Alright campers! Let's make some noise!"

A chorus of cheers and shouts rose from the kids around him. Out of the corner of his eye, Jaxx saw the raven haired boy finally push the girl off of him.

The camp counselor continued, "In just a second here we're going to split you up into groups for a tour of Camp Radiance's campgrounds, then we'll head on over to the mess hall for some grub! So just hang tight okay?"

Jaxx ended up getting put in a group with the white haired kid he was previously sitting near, along with the blond and the black haired kid who had shoved that poor girl off of him, along with a few others. The counselor that was leading them held a clipboard and spoke as if he was talking to a group of young children rather than teenagers.

"Alrighty kiddos," He began, flashing them a crooked smile, "Who's ready to explore Camp Radiance?"

A few cheers rose from the kids around them. Jaxx didn't join in, neither did the ravenette beside him.

"Okie dokie happy campers!" the counselor said cheerfully "Follow my lead and lets get started"

Jaxx tried his hardest to pay attention to the tour, but he kept looking at the snowy haired kid. He guessed it was because of their hair, he had never seen hair that color before and couldn't for the life of him understand why someone would dye it white of all colors. Additionally, it looked pretty messy as if they simply hadn't cared enough to do anything with it, but that couldn't have been the case because there were various colored bobby pins that were pinning down the white locks on the left side of their head.

Jaxx wanted to write it off as just the kid trying to look cool, but something about them seemed to keep drawing his attention. Maybe it was the white and black striped shirt they wore, or the jean jacket tied around their waist. Who in their right mind wears a jacket in the middle of June? Won't they get hot?

As the tour ended and they arrived at the mess hall the camp counselor spoke, "And with that our tour of the grounds has come to an end! Listen kiddos I've gotta go for a sec, counselor business. You can stay out here and chat, or you can go inside and wait for everyone else. If anything, and I mean anything at all goes wrong just go up to the counselors cabin and knock, a counselor will be right with you."

Jaxx, who didn't have anyone to talk to and certainly didn't want to be caught staring at the enigma that was the white haired kid, was quick to push through the small crowd of kids and head for the mess hall. He heard a small grunt of pain but didn't think much of it and kept walking towards the mess hall. Before he could reach the door, he was yanked backwards by the back of his shirt and dragged behind the building.

After he was dropped, he turned around to face his attacker and piercing dark eyes stared back at him angrily. The raven haired kid looked at Jaxx as if he had personally insulted him. Jaxx had no clue what he did to incur his wrath, however, he saw it in his best interest to fix it and fast.

"Uhh... Can I...help you?" Jaxx asked with less confidence than he was hoping for.

He was promptly pinned to the wall by his shoulders with force that made him tremble in fear. The kid in front of him was shorter than he was, as most people were, but only by a couple of inches. Jaxx didn't know if it was the rough way this kid was handling him, or the enraged glare in his dark gray eyes that scared him more. He wanted nothing more than to disappear, but since that wasn't an option he tried to make small talk, anything to get him out of this situation.

"N-nice shirt," Jaxx stuttered, looking at the kids black Fall Out Boy shirt.

Finally the black haired boy spoke, "You just pushed my brother over y'know."

"O-oh, I did?" Jaxx was regretting pushing through that crowd so hastily, perhaps it would've been better to be caught staring.

"Yeah, knocked him over too."

"Oh, i-it was just an accident. I didn't mean it, I swear."

" They never got an apology, did they?"

"No, but I can apologize to him!" Jaxx wasn't even sure which kid he had pushed over, but if this was what kept him alive, he'd figure it out.

"Good," the kid dropped him and left. Jaxx took a few seconds to catch his breath and make sure that kid was long gone. That encounter made one thing clear to him, there were at least two kids here who he definitely couldn't mess with. Standing up and dusting himself off, Jaxx made his way into the mess hall.

Omg the temptation to just publish all of my finished chapters is killing me! But I promised myself I'd stick to a schedule and you never know when motivation will just disappear on you. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Be sure to comment, I would love to see what you thought of it.
