“Hey,” Jeremy McKing said to me. Jeremy McKing. Jeremy freaking McKing! I can’t believe it! He’s actually talking to me. Oh, my God. I can’t believe my luck. This is unreal, like super unreal. I must be dreaming. I secretly pinched my thigh but I’m still here, completely awake. This just means that I’m not dreaming. Oh, gosh.
“H-Hey,” I stammered. It’s my first time to talk to my crush what do you expect me to do? “You’re Jeremy, right?” I asked stupidly.
“Uhm, yeah.” He answered awkwardly. He must think that I’m just another dumb blonde and that I’m just wasting his time and his going to go now. Oh, please don’t go! “Are you a party crasher? ‘Cause I believe fifty percent of the people here are just party crashers and, uhm, somebody’s been spiking my drinks.”
Spiking his drinks? What does spiking mean? Well, whatever that means I’m certainly not the one doing it.
“Uhm, no. And I have an invitation,” I said proudly.
“Really?” he said, really interested now. “Who gave you an invitation?”
“Uhm… Michael Philips did,” I said.
“So you go to our school then?” he asked. Uh oh. He can’t know that I go to school with them. He might start talking to me at school and Hayley and Mackenzie will surely be suspicious and then they’d find out that I came to this party. I must lie. Oh, but I don’t want to lie to Jeremy!
“No, actually, I am…Michael’s…cousin’s…cousin,” I lied.
“Michael’s cousin’s cousin?” he asked suspiciously. “He never told me his cousin’s cousin is really pretty,” he added. Oh my gosh, I think he just called me pretty. Is he flirting with me? Probably not but maybe, I don’t know. God, how do you function in society?!?!?
“But I’m wearing a mask,” I reasoned out. “You can’t tell if I am pretty or not with a mask on.”
“I suppose so. But I’m pretty sure you are.” He smiled at me.
I smiled at that with butterflies fluttering inside my stomach and I looked down to see that the table has been filled with cans of Cali, the non-alcoholic one. Now how did that happen? I grabbed one and tried my best to open it. For some reason it wouldn’t budge. I can see from the corner of my eye that Jeremy was grinning at me. He probably thinks that I’m such a weakling. I scrub bathroom floors and do laundries and those are like my arm exercises but I can’t open a can of Cali? Are you even joking?
“Give it,” he said and I gave him the can that has been shook because of my failed attempts to open it.
BAM!
The moment he opened it non-alcoholic Cali was spraying all over us. There was Cali on my hair, Cali on my dress, on my shoes and even all over Jeremy. When the spraying spree was over we looked at each other and started laughing. Our fronts were soaked that I can almost see his abs through his almost transparent white shirt. I just realized now that we were a match, we were both angels. Does that mean that we’re meant to be?
“I am so sorry,” he apologized and grabbed some paper napkins and handed me some.
“It’s alright,” I said. The Cali on my hair quickly dried and my hair was sticky and already disheveled after trying to wipe it all off while Jeremy desperately tried to wipe off some of it on his own hair but failed.
“I think we should wash our hair,” he suggested with an apologetic smile on his face.
“Yeah, I think we should,”
He led me up the second floor where, surprisingly, only a few people where hanging out, mostly couples, probably wanting some privacy from the party below. Jeremy led me to a hall with a lot doors. He stopped on the third door on the right and when he opened it revealed a huuuuggee bathroom, and then I realized that that wasn’t even the main bathroom yet. It only had a really long mirror and an equally long marble sink with three faucets, medicine cabinets, a toilet and a shower with frosted glass panels. A mini hallway led to the main bathroom which had a bathtub, another marble sink with mirrors and more cabinets.
