Hidden feelings

Back at home

Westport is a really nice town if you get to know it through Phoebe's eyes. But now that she was away from that town for a while she needs a little bit time to realize that she is back in the town that she missed for so long. And the most she missed her childhood best friend Nathan Wesley, who she spend most of the time with at their private place at the beach from Westport. The reason why she got back to the town was her mom who suffers from cancer and has only a few months to live and her biggest wish was to see her family the last time before she can die in piece.
Phoebe was now on the way to the supermarket to do some shopping for her mom and that was the moment, when she got to see Nathan the first time after a few years. He was tall and got more muscular over the last few years that she hadn't been in contact with him. She just took her shopping card and went the other way through the store to get the things she needed. But at the supermarket checkout she involuntary met Nathan's gaze and he seemed to recognize her, because his eyes widened with knowledge and he nodded at me. I simply nodded back and paid my groceries hastily, because my mom shouldn't be alone for such a long time.
Back at her mothers house she breathed out relieved despite the shock of seeing Nathan after such a long time. "Oh,hey sweetheart! Did you get everything?" her mom called out of her bedroom and so Phoebe went to her bedroom and sat down at her side on the bed. "Yes, Mom. I got everything that you asked for! Do you know what Nathan is doing here in Westport?" she asked her curious and looked at her with a interested gaze. "He never left Westport. Why are you asking me this Phoebe?" Her mom asked back but she just shook her shoulders as a sign that she didn't really know why she asked this question. She decided it would be better for her mom not to know of her involuntary meeting with him. So she went on unpacking her groceries and got Nathan slowly out of her mind.
But before Phoebe slept in this evening she had to think of Nathan and his pretty dark brown eyes who gazed at her with knowledge and amazement to see her again after all this years of missing her. //Maybe he missed me too and hopes to get to know me again after or friendship in school. I will find it out in a near future hopefully!//she thought dreamily and slept in with a warm feeling in her chest and thoughts about him in her mind.
