She was walking to her dorm after her lest lecture. Her friends catching up.
„Hey Rose, do you want to grab some ice cream?" asked Beth, her best friend. Her long dark hair in a ponytail. She was wearing her usual downtown girl outfit.
„I don't think so. Prof Smith asked me to write an exam tomorrow for some reason, so I have to study," she said with a sad face.
„That's strange. I mean tomorrow is a Saturday. Why would he ask you to write an exam then? Anyway. Then good studying. Bye gal," Beth hugged her in a warm good luck style. She said her goodbyes to her friends and went to her dorm.
She had a very bad feeling about this exam. She wasn't scared that she'd fail. It was something else. Like why would her professor make her write an exam that no one else has to write on a Saturday? She shrugged it off. Pushing it aside so she could focus on her notes.
...
„I'm here Professor Smith," she walked into the lecture hall, greeting the middle aged man at his desk. You could see grey hairs on his head, but that was the only sign of age on him. He was quite handsome and charming. As if he was sculpted by Michelangelo. He has a beautifully sharp jawline and defined cheeks. A stunning pair of amber eyes on the middle of his head. He kept his beard short, it also had grey parts in it. He always wears suits. Today's suit was a brown corduroy trouser and jacket, under it a white shirt, at the top a few buttons undone. He looked good. No wonder all the girls he taught had a crush on him.
„Hello Rose. Please take a seat," he didn't lift his head from the paper he was looking at, but he gestured to the first row of seats. Rose took a seat in front of him. Even like this there was at least 2 metres of space between them. „I'm sorry I asked you to come in at the weekend. I'm sure you've got other plans for today, like visiting your boyfriend. But don't you worry you can go after you finish it," he looked up smiling when Rosa was getting her pencil case out of her bag. He was quite apologetic.
„Oh, I don't have a boyfriend and I didn't have any specific plan for today," she returned the smile.
„Well I thought that you'd have a boyfriend since you're such a kind girl. Let's just get this over with," he stood up and placed a paper in front of her. He sat down at his desk again. Rose looked down on the paper. There was only one word on it in capital.
„RUN," she read out loud. She looked up confused. The same felling she felt last night came back crushing onto her. She shouldn't' be there. The professor was already looking at her with blood thirst in his eyes. He looked horrifying. He slowly picked something up as he got up and dragged it his desk until the end of it, then put it behind his back. Rose couldn't see what it was. It didn't really matter. She found out seconds later. While he was walking toward her he drew the object slowly from his behind. As soon as the light hit it it shined, like in a horror film. He was holding the handle of it. It was a fucking butcher knife. They were face-to-face know. Rose's eyes wide in horror and shock. She slowly rose from her seat. Not daring to turn her back on him. If he would to swing the knife it would hit her.
„Didn't you read the paper? Run. I like the chase. Go ahead, try to escape," he smiled, it was his usual kind smile, but only know she realised how psychotic he looked. She started to walk in parallel with him. Keeping the same distance like before. He could have already stab her if he wanted, but he didn't. That has got to be a good sign. Right? She suddenly started to run. She wasn't athletic at all, but she knew that if she'd stop she would die in an instant. She kept running no matter what. The adrenalin and the fear of dying pushing her forward. The campus was big so she could easily escape. She was running down one of the huge halls. She looked behind herself and she didn't see her professor. She was so confused. Was he just imagining it?
„You should look in front of yourself when you're trying to escape your killer," the voice came from in front of her. Moments later something sharp and cold cut into her stomach. The blood drained from her face. The pain was unbearable. Her knees buckled and she fell to the floor, a pool of blood already forming. The cut was deep and wide. Like a gash.
„Okay. Let's take a look at your insides," he leaned over her, his raincoat almost brushing her face and he started to slash her flesh up even more. She was still conscious. She wanted to scream. But she couldn't. Her brain was in shock, her voice frozen in her throat. She was on her back. Blood everywhere around her.
„Here is your gut, beautiful. Your liver. I knew I should've gone to biology instead of history. You know let's just end your suffering here," and with that he slashed her throat. She finally died. But he wasn't finished. He spread out her organs quite literally like a map. Blood covered the floor, the walls and even the ceiling.
„I hated your guts anyway," he spit on Rose's dead corpse. „The first student who comes this way will definitely find you. I feel sorry for them already," he looked into her lifeless eyes for one last time and walked away. „I should get rid of these," he gestured at the knife and the raincoat.
