When Dean's thoughts shifted to dreams, Castiel watched with interest for another hour before retreating into his own mind and calling out for his gracious host. "Lisa?"
Something stirred within him like a mental stretch, and a voice higher than his had been when he'd operated her body answered. "Hey, everything okay?"
He mentally nodded, "He's asleep. I really wanted to thank you...profusely. You're very generous and caring, and Dean is extremely lucky to have you."
Lisa bloomed with warmth in their chest as she traveled closer to the forefront of his mind. "You're welcome, Cas. And after talking to him, who knows? Maybe we'll do this again sometime."
Castiel felt that she meant it, but would try not to get his hopes up regardless. They were both allowed whatever made them comfortable, and he would never pressure his hunter or the wonderful human sharing space with him in any way. "You're a beautiful woman, inside and out. Thank you again, and I'll be going now."
Lisa smiled with her soul as Castiel moved his grace from the small woman's body back to his own in the closet, making himself invisible before flying back into their bedroom to catch a second glimpse-not quite able to let go just yet. In the one second it took him to switch bodies and reappear, Dean had stretched and blinked his eyes. Looking at the woman now facing him, he smiled sleepily. "Hey, Lis."
The man really could see him. She smiled back, "Hey, babe. Have a good time?"
He smiled and yawned, "You're so fucking cool, you know that?"
She nodded as she kissed him. "Yeah, I know." And then she laughed.
"'s so funny?"
"You taste different."
He grinned, "Yeah, so did he. Pretty fuckin' weird."
She reached under the blanket and got a grip on the collar of his t-shirt, pulling it into his line of sight. "Why the hell am I wearing your grubby old t-shirt?"
He laughed out loud, pulling her into his chest. "Cas wanted to smell like me before he left. Told him you'd hate it."
She joined in his mirth, reaching down and pulling the apparently offensive article over her head and tossing it onto the floor. "Much better." She kissed him again, turned around, and settled her back into his front without putting on a new shirt. Did they sleep without clothing often? He knew it was something some humans enjoyed.
Dean let a small hum of satisfaction escape his throat as he squeezed her tight, his hand obviously moving to her chest and squeezing under the blanket.
"Fuck. Jesus, Dean!"
The man pulled back suddenly, surprised. "What'd I do?"
She scoffed incredulously, "Fucking bit my nipples raw, apparently!"
He bit his lips between his teeth and looked away from her like a kid caught with his hands in the candy jar. "Yeah...sorry about that..."
"The hell else did you do to me?" She turned her head and smiled so he knew she wasn't actually upset, and he seemed to relax back into the bed, relieved.
"I'll say it again, Lis...you're fucking cool."
She agreed for the second time and snuggled into him and her pillow, pulled his arms back around her under the blanket. "Maybe cool enough to let you do it again sometime."
Dean stiffened before relaxing again, "Maybe you'd wanna stick around next time..."
She smacked his arm. "You're bad."
He kissed the back of her head, "You love me."
"You love me."
He smiled to the darkness and nodded. "I do."
Castiel observed from the edges of the room as the couple slowly fell asleep, safe in each other's embrace and ever-safe with their guardian angel watching over them.
