Awakening

How long has it been? How long have I been floating through this void? Who am I? I..I don't remember my name..?

Huh..? Am I floating faster? Wait I am! Oh shi-

"Gah!?" I flinched awake, bracing my hands in front of my face to soften my fall. After a couple tense seconds I realize I'm laying on my back, meaning I was already on the ground. I slowly open one eye, to only groan when I still can't see at all. Thankfully I still have my sense of smell.

As I take a deep breath through my nostrils, I smell stale air, like the stalest air I've ever had the misfortune to inhale, I cough for what feels like 5 whole hours, though it probably was only 15 seconds. But it still hurts though!

Anyway after hacking out my lungs, I start to hear what sounds like...WATER!
I immediately hop onto all fours, staying low to the ground, but not low enough to where my palms touch the ground, only my knuckles. After that I focus on the noise, making sure what direction it's coming from. After I'm sure, I cautiously head into the dark. I'm not going to rush, especially after waking up in an unfamiliar place.

After what feels like five days (30 minutes) my hand feels the moisture of what feels like a puddle. I raise my hand to my nose sniffing whatever it is to make sure it's water, and...Yup that's water! I immediately rush forward, feeling thirsty like I've never drank water since the day I was born.

I couldn't tell you how long I sat there, just shoveling handful after handful of that water. After I finally felt satisfied, I realized I wasn't hungry either. That's when alarms went off in my mind.

I've never NOT been hungry. Well okay, in the void I never felt hunger or thirst, but I didn't feel anything in the void anyway. Physically at least. Anyway, the point is in my previous form I was always hungry.

Wait. 'Previous form?' Suddenly an intense pain cut through my head, causing me to clench my eyes shut and drag my nails across my temple. Memories started to flash through my head, slow enough to be acknowledged, but too fast to actually comprehend.

One colossal migraine later, I laid face first in that puddle from earlier, too tired to make a move to get up.

'Those memories... They aren't mine. But how? How do I have somebody else's memories?' as I finally made a move to get up, I think about what little I gleamed from those memories.

I only got three things that I can remember exactly: Rose Quartz, Steven Universe, and Beach City.

I have no clue what these things mean, but I feel like there is the key to finding out what's going on. And even though I don't know where I am, I do know one thing. I am the relentless Hunter, a true survivor.

With my fire inside ignited at the prospect of the Hunt, I howled, exclaiming to my prey, whatever that prey was, that I'm on the prowl.

"Steven, did you know some animals have homing instincts?"

Connie Maheswaran was sitting in the bedroom of her best (and only) friend Steven Universe. They were watching an animal documentary Connie had borrowed from the library.

"Woah cool! Does that mean Lion can find me, from anywhere? Even the moon?" Steven exclaimed, then excitedly looked down the stairs to his room, seeing the large pink cat chewing on one of his old shirts.

"Good thing I can't wear that anymore."
He sighed, turning back to giggling Connie.

"I don't know, Lion is a magical creature. Maybe he can smell thoughts." Connie said jokingly, then she stopped and actually started considering the possibility.
