Chapter Seven: The Package

2 days after the infection..

Sally's POV
"Come on, Eddie! Just let us open it!" I pleaded as I kneeled to the ground, trying to negotiate with this mf to open that stupid package, it might contain guns.

"No Sally, the first rule of being a Mailman is to not open other people's letters OR packages , you know I'm still going through Post school right?" Eddie just drove away the package away from my hands.

"But..Eddiee! The receiver of that package could be dead! No one will know!" Julie joined on my negotiations, as she kneeled next to me, Eddie moving further away from us both.

"No Julie, that'll be disrespectful for the dead" He responded once more, aww why did Eddie become so boring, he used to play with us to annoy Frank.

"Okay, why don't you two stop bothering Eddie and help us?" Frank interrupted us, ugh..boring.

"And what are you supposed to be doing then? Reading random crap on text?" I argued, in a sarcastic tone to them.

"Excuse me?! Atleast I'm trying to help us find the cure on this apocalypse instead of wasting time opening a package" Frank closed up their book, then looked at our direction.

"Ugh..Killjoy" I murmured "Don't make me tell you on Poppy and Barnaby on e they come back, why can't you both be like Wally?" Frank pointed on our dear friend, Wally, who's sulking on the corner for unknown reasons.

"Fineeee, Julie let's go explore the area.." I walked away from Frank, grabbing my backpack and Bow n' arrows from the ground, just incase y'know. Jules has a jumprope, they can hit zombies with it but I think my weapon works better.

After we finished preparing, we finally took off and walked around.

Julie's POV
Sally and I have been exploring this abandoned building for 30 minutes and currently we only found unmoving corpses, it's expected for a place like this.

"Juliee..it's taking us forever here.. we're never gonna find something new" Sally whined as she drags her bow to the ground, oh boy..she's right tho, this is boring..

"Be patient Sally, we don't want Frank to be mad at us" I encouraged Sally as i gently tapped her shoulder.

"..But I'm starving! I might Aswell die to those stupid zombies!" She complained even more as I sighed and grabbed a snack from my backpack to ease Sally's hunger and boredom.

"Here, eat this" I offered Sally a slice of apple pie that's wrapped in a small see-through foil.

"What the— Hey..this looks like Poppy's..where did you this, Jules?" Uh oh..she's starting to suspect me..oh crap, I knew it'll come out sooner.

"Uhmm..Well.. I kinda snuck into Poppy's bag and grabbed a snack..I'm sorry okay! The smell was too good to bare for!" I cried out as I placed the slice in Sally's hands, dissapointed in myself for doing such a crime to my friend.

"Aw..it's alright Jules, I'm sure Poppy will understand, just apologise and everything will work out" Sally said, as she munched the pie on every last crumb.

"Awe..I guess you do have a point..okay..I'll apologise to her once we got back.." I smiled as I regained myself, Sally is..truly a special friend..

I intertwined my hands with hers as we continue on our way on exploring the building, though it's quite boring and dull..atleast I have Sally by my side.
