Checking your phone to confirm your plan was a go, you took a last look at yourself in the mirror, "Let's get this shit started."
You stashed a small bag under your bed, already pre-packed with everything you'd need in the evening on your secret night out.
It was the morning of Nilou's performance and you had to get rid of the metaphorical ball and chain tied to your legs. You've been trying to figure out the best way to do it for the past week and thankfully, you had the perfect way that would put them out of commission long enough for you to leave them in the dust, even if it would cost you some energy also.
You just hoped they didn't have more stamina than you've accounted for. But from the fact that you never actually saw them take a break, it could mean two things. Either they're superhuman which would be unfortunate for you, or they're not at their best and that gave you a chance.
"We're going out!" You announced, peaking your head out of your room with a gleeful smile.
Alhaitham gave you a sceptical look, wary of anything that would bring you that much joy. While you weren't entirely against their presence any more, too much excitement entailed more work for them. And he hated extra work.
"Where?" Cyno asked, fishing for more information so that they could mentally prepare themselves for the day ahead.
"We're going to a paintball tournament and you can't do shit about it, cause everything is already set up." You informed, striding out of your room with a confident look.
The instant shock mixed with anguish was apparent on their faces. You could only guess how much they hated the fact that they couldn't stop you.
"Don't look at me like that. It's just some dumb adults playing with colours. I'm sure that as trained bodyguards, you can beat some nerds playing storm troopers." You mused in a challenging way.
"Tch." Alhaitham scoffed, suppressing the urge to tie you up in your room and leave you there for a few hours.
"That's not the problem, Miss (Y/N)." Cyno commented, checking up with Alhaitham to make sure he wasn't going to strangle you in your sleep the moment he had the chance.
"I told you not to call me that. It's just (Y/N)." You remarked with a close-eyed smile as you turned to them at the door, "I promise to not drag the team down."

Fully geared up, you adjusted your helmet, making sure it wasn't going to move in the heat of battle. You were pleasantly surprised that the competition was held in a field with a few buildings which meant plenty of coverage without being bothersome. Perfect.
You were pretty sure Alhaitham stopped planning your murder about halfway to the tournament site, so that was also a plus as you didn't have to worry about 'accidental' friendly-fire.
When the match ups were decided, you squinted your eyes at the sight of a team comprised of kids in their early teens. They were a rowdy and bratty bunch, entirely too full of themselves. You grinned to yourself, 'I'm going to wipe those smug looks off their faces.'
Was it petty to pick a fight with kids? Maybe, but you just had the feeling they deserved it.
Observing the competition, Cyno identified the biggest threats and the best order of their elimination. To him, it wasn't much different from an ordinary mission, just not as bloody or lethal. This would be a piece of cake.
While Alhaitham didn't appreciate getting dragged into this mess, he had a reputation to uphold. His pride wouldn't survive being bested by ordinary civilians and kids of all people. In just a few minutes, he's calculated multiple ways these matches could end.
