Wanting to feel wanted is the loneliness feeling ever

"Okay, Ms. Lucien please read the quote on page fifty-six." I stood up, all eyes on me as I read through my mothers' book. "I hate small talk. I want to talk of atoms, death, aliens, sex, magic, intellect, the meaning of life, far-away galaxies, the lies you've told, your flaws, your favorite scents, your childhood, what keeps you up at night, your insecurities and your fears." I took a breath and continued, "I like people with depth, who speak with emotions from a twisted mind. I don't want to know "what's up"." I spoke, and the class seemed to hazily stare as Mrs. Yagami held this warm smile. 'You have the voice that draws people in and makes them listen, your tone alone sets the mood of the story we're reading. This is why I ask you to read it so much because of how much emotion you thread through the pages you read.' Mrs. Yagami's voice rang through my ears as I took a seat, I see what she means now. I met Kurama's gaze, he held this look of interest as he gave a friendly smile. A playful look filled those steel eyes of his and Isobe continued. The class continued, we wound up stopping at the next chapter and Mrs. Yagami brought up the project, "Alright class, will be doing a project over this paper. I'd like everyone to write one of three things. The first is an inspiration from the book, this could be your own writing or how the book inspired you. Two, what have you learned from it, and lastly how do you perceive this work of literature?" She said as the class waited patiently, she continued setting stacks of paper at the first desk and people passed them back. "I will be assigning partners during this project." I noticed girls glancing at Kurama, his body stiffened but he hid it well. This was probably because of how large this class is. "Before anyone decides to bombard Kurama he will be assigned to work with Thorn." Some whines were heard as his orbs widened and she gave a soft smile, I met his gaze with a friendly smile and he grinned returning it. "Enough, those who proceed to complain will be sent to the office or written up." The girls shut up real quick, I hid a chuckle appreciating Mrs. Yagami's upfront personality and passed the papers behind me as I flipped through the pages.

"Hello again," Kurama spoke sitting backward on his chair leaning his body on the back. "Hey Kurama, did ya read through the project?" He nodded, pulling my copy to him. "Yeah, I haven't been at school a lot so I'm not super caught up with the book." So that's why she assigned him to me. "Well, good thing I have this book memorized." His orbs widened, "You do?" I nodded and pointed at the author's name, "This is my mother's work." His lips parted in shock as I chuckled, "Suprised?" I teased lightly as he met my cheeky gaze. "You could say that," he returned the smirk. "Good thing Mrs. Yagami assigned you to me then." I nodded with a hum, "Yep, now tell me how far are you, and if you haven't read it that's okay. We can just read it later." He rubbed the nape of his neck confirming my suspicion, his eyes shifted away and I grinned. "I haven't." He admitted and I nodded, "That's alright, you have two study halls correct?" He glanced at me, saying I was right as I pulled the school's copy out and passed it to him. "Then will read it during that time. I'm sure Mrs. Yagami will allow you to come with me to the auditorium - I'm caught up with set pieces for the theatre kids too." His orbs widened a soft smile spilling over his features, "Will just be surrounded," He said in English making me shake my head; "No there to busy to focus on us, and Mr. Renolds will have their heads if they don't focus." I laughed and he chuckled, nodding at my statement. "Sounds like a plan."

"Kurama," I turned my head to Nanami and Tomoe, the fox was giving his usual glare as the god looked concerned. "Hey Nanami, what's up?" I used my usual coy tone adding a flirty edge as she ignored it, "What is with you and Thorn?" She asked, my orbs widened. I guess Thorn means a lot to her if she's coming up and asking me. I grinned and raised a brow; "awe, I'm hurt. We're just partners for the literature assignment." I spoke shrugging as the fox raised a brow; "She is human, so don't push it." He warned and Nanami continued; "And she's very smart, when we came back to school she asked me about Yokai." She trailed making my eyes widen, so she knows about the supernatural? I questioned as she folded her brows; "If she finds out, I understand but I don't want her safety to be in danger because of us." I shifted leaning back, "But what if she doesn't care? I'll admit I don't know her as well as you, but I doubt she'd care about her safety and be more concerned about you." Nanami said nothing, she knew I was right, and her fighting against Isobe proved my point. "You don't know that." Tomoe said and I smirked glancing at him, "Yes I do, you barely know the woman so you can't say anything." He frowned but didn't argue as Nanami sighed. "Kurama is right, that sounds exactly like her." Then a soft voice broke our conversation; "Uh, am I interrupting?" we turned our heads to Thorn. Her hair was pulled up into a sloppy bun her bangs framing her face beautifully as she wore her eyeliner and red lips today. This time a large black hoodie was thrown over her shirt, the skirt peeking out under as her converse had paint splattered on them and some writing was done on the white tops. I gave her a smile; "Nope, sorry for making you wait." I turned approaching her and she simply shook her head; "Your alright, ah hi Nanami and Tomoe." She gave a wave, and I felt my eyes on her. "Hi, Thorn! Sorry, we need to get going let's talk later!" She raised a brow but nodded, then I met those bright blues. They reminded me of the heavens themselves and I always seemed to find myself looking at them, it reminded me of long flights. It was relaxing and calming. "Kurama ya ready to read the book?" She spoke, batting her lashes as I grinned softly nodding at her. "Yep, let's go beautiful." I flirted making her playfully roll her eyes and grin; "Glad you're being yourself," I paused at her whisper. She gave me a knowing grin and I grinned shaking my head at the woman as I followed her into the auditorium sitting in the back and noticing her stuff set up.
