Magnolia

I am about a hundred yards from the pack house when I can sense at least one pair of eyes on me. I almost stop dead in my tracks but decide to keep pushing on.

"Somebody is on the porch at the pack house" I hear Rudina say, I can feel her beginning to stir inside me wanting to get out and get payback.

If whoever it was, was an actual threat I think they would have attacked by now. I stand up a bit straighter and keep going, I really wish I had the car because I could have just driven right by and not be bothered by them.

I pass the pack house and I could tell there were two figures standing there but they made no move to come after me luckily. Once I was out of sight from the pack house, I began to pick up some pace so I could put as much distance between us just in case. When I could no longer smell the two, I stepped just inside the tree line of the woods and began to strip, it was bitterly cold even with Rudina to help keep me warm. I shoved all my things in the bag with the rest of my spare clothes and let Rudina take over.

I stood there on all fours and could tell she was happy to finally be out and able to run. Today has been overly stressful for me but I can just imagine how she is feeling. Throughout the day's events, I could tell Rudina wanted to come out and fight, but I know I couldn't let that happen. I began to run to the outskirts of the boundaries and just kept running.

Rudina was a very large wolf, she was larger than most she-wolves, anytime I would shift people would be afraid of my size. As I was running, I let my own thoughts take control and let Rudina take me someplace, I was a wreck. I just lost my whole family and my pack; I have no clue what I am supposed to do or where I am supposed to go. Nothing in school or training prepares you for your pack being slaughtered, I can feel my heartache and could hear Rudina whine because she lost her whole family as well.

I could feel her slowing down as we approached what seemed to be an abandoned building. I had no clue where Rudina had taken me, but I was okay with that and the fact we got away as fast as we could. I walked in very cautiously not shifting back to human form, I walked the perimeter of the whole building inside and out to make sure the whole thing was clear.

I found a corner in the open first floor, this place must have been a warehouse of some sort. I still had no clue where we were, but I knew we were far from home. I could no longer smell death or the decaying bodies that lay there.

I laid down still in my wolf form because that is the best way, I will stay warm throughout the night. I closed my eyes for what felt like five minutes but was suddenly woken by the sound of the door opening. Rudina let out a warning low growl, I looked up to see two figures standing at the door. I could smell them, it was the same scent from the pack house, these two were the ones standing on the porch when I left.

I saw them take another step closer to me and this time Rudina let out a louder warning growl and the two figures stopped mid-stride. I stood up towering over the two, and I saw them take a small step back and put their hands up.

"Listen we aren't here to hurt you." Said the smaller one out of the two he looked to be a few years older than me.

"Yeah, we were at the pack house and saw you leave." Pipped the other one, I couldn't tell if they feared me or that they were alone just like me.

"Let's just go, we don't need these two." I said to Rudina. When I went to make the move to walk away Rudina stayed in one spot.

"No Magnolia, we need help, and we will be stronger together. Let's stay and hear what they have to say." Rudina said she is always the words of wisdom one out of the two of us. Then I heard her speak to the two strangers.
