The Lawyer

Part 1- The meeting.

Maya started her day as usual. She got out of bed at 6 am, went for her morning run, and headed into work.

See, Maya always wanted to do something fun, such as being a firefighter, or a pilot, but instead, here she was, working as a Lawyer for her fathers firm.

As Maya headed into work, she was greeted by her father, "Maya, I have a client for you. Her name is Carina Deluca, claimed to have killed her ex-husband. So far 10 lawyers have turned down her case. Want nothing to do with it. " Maya thought about it, and nodded, "I'm up for the challenge."

As Carina sat down to eat lunch, she was tapped by a guard, "Deluca, there's someone here to see you." Carina was puzzled, but complied. Who would be here to see her?

She was met by a random, but very beautiful woman, just great. "What do you want?" Carina sighs. Maya looks at her, "I'm here to discuss your case, Carina. I want to help you get out of here."

"Oh. So you're the one getting me out. I see. Well how are you planning to do that, princess?" Maya looks a little stunned at the nickname. "Maybe lets keep the nicknames to ourselves, Carina. To introduce myself, my name is Maya Bishop. I'll be your lawyer for this case. Now, I got you a trial date for May 23rd. Its the 4th now. You have a while to go, but I believe we can get you out of here or get a shortened sentence."

Carina thinks, before she says "Okay, Princess. I'm up for it if you are." Maya decides to ignore the nickname, just grumbling slightly, and proceeds by explaining how it'll work to Carina. "I'll be back in a few days to discuss what you're going to tell the judge and go over your case. Sound good?" Carina gives a small smile "Of course it does. See you then, Princess." Maya shakes her head and lets the guard know shes leaving.

Maya heads out of the prison, trying to shake away her thoughts. God, that woman was beautiful. And her accent mixed with the word princess? Maya could've folded then and there.

But this woman is a murderer. She is accused of killing her husband. Maya grimaces just thinking about it.

She continues her way back to the firm and with a deep breath and a extra large coffee, moves on to her next client.
