Chapter 10
I wake up in the spare room, my throat still felt warm, I had to swallow a few times for it to feel right again, I connect to my thoughts that are racing around in my head, while I listen to them I feel like tuning out, numbing it some how, because there are just snippets of things, everything is not completely there. The story doesn't fit at all.
I decide to walk out into the lounge. Before me I see Jaydes body laid out in the middle of the lounge, she looked to be laying in a wooden box with handles on the side, of which I assumed to a coffin. She was completely burnt I couldn't see her face at all, it was like she was a whole different person, I turn to Chaise and ask,
'What happened to her?'
'She was in accident while drinking and fell into an open fire.'
'What!' I exclaimed
I run straight over to her body, I look down at her face. One tear rolled off my face onto her forehead, that single tear was the only one that escaped my eyes. I looked up at my friends, they all looked completely shocked, then I looked to Will.
'Come with me Will, now.' I said
'Okay.'
I head for the spare room where it is all messy from my sleep, I sat on the bed and Will sat opposite to me.
'Were we drinking last night?'
'Yeah we were.' He says
'Um... How come Jayde fell into the fire, how much did she have to drink?'
'Mickey told me that she had way more to drink than she normally would have in the past, I think she had Grant shots. I don't know how many she had but it was a lot to make her sick and not walk probably.'
'Yeah I can imagine. Why was I in bed and not the others?'
'Wow you actually don't remember anything from last night right? Anyway you went to bed because you felt sick before we started drinking and you had about 3 Woodstock, and 2 Screwdrivers, you said that you felt sick so Chaise took you to bed.'
I could see something else in his eyes, like he was leaving something out, something extremely important. I could quite put my finger on it so I decided to leave it.
'Well that explains the burning throat this morning.'
'Yeah.' He laughs, a little bit nervous
I just look weirdly at him and dismiss the thought of him lying to me. I stood up and walked into the lounge. Chaise is sitting there, obviously deep in thought. Will walks straight over to her and whispers in her something in her ear I can't hear. They leave the room, it was a bit odd but I didn't think anymore of it as far as I'm concerned it's just me and my mates. I wonder how we are going to tell her parents, if they all ready now, what will happen with her funeral, what will happen with my head and I guess all of our heads. I don't. I went to sit on the couch and as soon as my head hit the couch I passed out.
