Almost a month later, Peter and Cam were going strong.

The pair were ridding the subway with their shared earbuds playing "Bloom Later" by Jesse, Cam's head on Peter's shoulder. This was it. This was what Peter wanted ever since he had lost everyone.

The two still shared sadness over Robby's death and their internal guilt that they'd make a point not to fight over.

The couple was on their way to their newer job. It was a small-scale lab in the city funded by none other than the Mayfield family in memory of their late son. They wanted to give everyone a chance to indulge in their research just as Robby did.

It was an amazing gesture, one which Peter and Cam were invited to join immediately. The company was actually starting to grow in revenue as well, providing subtable paychecks for their employees.

Felicia was also a worker there, however, she would always leave early in the evening for reasons she wouldn't share. However, when museums and antique shops filed for a robbery, Peter always had his suspicions.

He wasn't going to press, though. He had other matters to worry about.

Peter and Cam were invited by Cam's aunt and uncle in Queens to go to dinner with them that Saturday night.

Peter was scared as this was the closest thing Cam had to parents, and wanted to make a good impression. Camila assured him everything would be great, and they would love him, but Peter had heard that before and had almost been shot before Homecoming.

Their dinner had finally come. Peter put on a dress shirt and pants, did his hair, and even shaved his minimal stubble.

Once Cam was ready, the two headed to a nicer restaurant in the city, which her aunt and uncle generously insisted on paying for.

They entered and were greeted by Cam's aunt, Denise, and uncle, Antonio.

The four sat and talked over drinks and sodas.

"So, Cam says you two have been together for a month... how did you two meet?" Antonio asked, almost demanding an answer. Must be a really protective guy.

"Well, um, we met at our old job, and after we were... put on assignment together, we just clicked and started dating from there," he explained, leaving out major details, such as the fact they got close during a heist.

"Yeah, that's basically how it happened," Cam agreed with an awkward laugh.

"Mmph," Antonio grunted in response while eating his steak.

"Well, you seem very lovely, Peter," Denise looked over at Peter. She seemed to intently stare him down.

Peter didn't love the vibes he was getting from the couple but decided to let it go.

The four were almost finished with their meals and conversations when Peter's phone buzzed rapidly.

He knew it was rude to use his phone at the table but pulled it out to his side anyways to check.

Cam peaked over at his phone in his lap, kicking his leg for him to get off the device.

"What's down there, Peter?" Antonio interogated the boy.

"Oh, it's no- actually, I have to go. I'm so sorry. There's an emergency at work, and it requires a certified lab technician," Peter came up with an excuse, shooting up from his seat at the table. "It was so nice meeting you, Mr. and Mrs. Flores. Cam has said nothing but good things about you two and I can see why," Peter rushed out in hopes of doing a bit of damage control as if it had any hope of working.

Cam was now awkwardly laughing, completely red in the face. She shot up as well.

"I'll walk you out. I'll be right back, Tia y Tio," she excused herself with Peter.

Peter grabbed his nice "bookbag" which actually contained his suit for emergency occasions while he was at work or occasions such as tonight.

Cam marched out after Peter, the girl now fuming.

"Pete, you better have a great explanation, because I guarantee that they strongly dislike you now," she whisper-shouted at him. They exited the glass doors of the restaurant. Peter stopped and turned to her. "Felicia texted me. She said she may or may not have been robbing a place and heard police chatter about Vorro escaping prison. He's out. The man who tried to kill us and who succeeded in killing Robby is out."

"Be safe," was all she told Peter before kissing him goodbye.

He bolted towards the nearest alleyway to equip his suit. He was going to take this man down. Especially after confirming tonight that Ray was in cahoots with Antonio Flores.

He was going to protect the girl he loved and give her some way home to him, regardless of who was trying to hunt them.

A/N: THAT'S THE END! I know, I know. I left a cliffhanger. If this story were to ever get a decent amount of attention, I'd totally make a second book. Anyways, hopefully, you enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Thank you for all the reads and votes, and to the people who added SWH to their reading lists- y'all are the real ones.

Love you all, and thank you for reading 'Some Way Home.'

Have a great day/night!
