― Come on, there must be an empty place around here, or maybe even someone to help me...
Kitty Kerly Cat, a 24-year-old successful chef, was running away, looking for a safer place to be. An infection had started spreading all around Lucella a couple of days ago, turning all her loved ones into monsters. Monsters who wouldn't stop and think before attacking.
The mall where she worked, managing her restaurant "Kitty's Kitchen", was no longer a shelter. No other survivors remained there. The ginger cat kept wondering how she even managed to escape. What she did know was... Survival wouldn't be easy, but she didn't want to stop fighting for her life.
She had found a shovel in a gardening shop back at the mall and was holding it as a weapon. However, she hadn't used it yet. And (according to herself, of course) she would probably die or get infected before even having the chance to defend herself with it. It still made her feel secure, though.
She had gotten all the way to the city's border, looking for shelter. And apparently, this was the day. She spotted a factory nearby and decided to check it out just in case.
As she approached the place, she realized it was closed. However, this wouldn't stop her. Being a feline as she was, climbing had turned into a piece of cake for her, so she climbed a metal fence and finally got inside the building, not realizing she was breaking into private property. I mean- She was in the middle of the apocalypse, and the last thing she could think about was trespassing.
After that, she started looking around the facility. She got to an area with two bedrooms, which were deeply out of place. Either way, the building was big, though a bit old looking. But the good news is she had finally gotten a place to live all by herse-
Suddenly, a female panda approached her from behind and held her tightly, threatening her while pressing a katana against her throat.
― There you are. You naughty trespassers think you can get away so easily, huh? Drop the weapon! ― the panda exclaimed with a slightly Chinese accent.
― W-What? ― Kitty asked, dropping her shovel from the sudden startle.
― Oh, don't pretend anything. You must clearly know you just broke into TSP's property.
― Well, how was I supposed to know?! It's the middle of an infection, FOR GOODNESS SAKE!
― Hey, don't you dare respond to me like that if you appreciate your life ― the panda pressed her katana a bit harder, still not hurting Kitty, but making her feel enough pain to groan ―. YOU GUYS! I FOUND THE TRESPASSER!
A pony and a black bear arrived running, and they just stared at the scene for a bit before trying to help. Pandy was way too aggressive sometimes...
― Pandy, what the heck!? Let her go! ― the other bear spoke as the pony quickly got away, looking for their substitute leader.
― Not until I get answers! Tell me, who sent you? Was it the police? The government? Any other survival groups looking for our resources? Huh? Speak up now! ― Pandy shouted, still not scaring Kitty.
― Wait. Do you think I am the threat here? You are the one who is probably about to kill me! ― the ginger cat exclaimed.
― Then maybe it's for the best, nosy brat. Don't go where they didn't call you.
Suddenly, a voice resonated in the whole building. A voice that Kitty knew well.
― ZHANG MING XIA! RELEASE HER IMMEDIATELY!
Pandy obeyed quickly. She knew things were not going to turn out well when she was called by her real name. She then stepped aside, as the substitute leader, a tall tiger with a scarred neck, showed up.
Tigry approached the cat with a cold, serious expression on his face. Kitty concluded she would better not even touch him, let alone hug him. She just stood there as her fellow feline stopped a couple of inches away from her and stared at her for a bit before sarcastically scoffing.
― Why does this not surprise me, Kitty Kerly Cat?
Kitty sighed before answering.
― It's good to see you too, Striped Boy.
