"Here you go, thank you for your purchase!" smiled the lady as she handed the sleep deprived man the bag.
The man headed to his car and texted his daughter's babysitter that he was to arrive in 20 minutes.
The sound of keys rustling caught the attention of the young girl of 7 years old, who was reading a book on the couch at the living room.
"Daaad!!, you're home late!" she complained as she hugs attacked her father.
"Heyy kitten" he smiled and hugged her back, a smile that was only preserved to the ones he loved, especially his daughter, a piece of his heart, a shining light in his life, God only knows how destroyed he'll be if anything is to happen to his little girl.
A few seconds later the babysitter appeared with her bag in hand, "Welcome back Mr Aizawa! I'll be going now" she slightly bowed.
Aizawa mhmed in acknowledgment, and then went to the living room with his daughter in his hands after he closed the apartment door when the babysitter left.
"Well, my Okimi, considering I am always late these past couple days, I got you a special gift, so can you find it in your small heart to forgive me for my lateness .... And hopefully for the future ones" he muttered the last part to himself, but that didn't go unheard by Okimi, since she rolled her eyes and chuckled.
"Well, what is it y'know" her eyes glittered in excitement
"Take a guess"
"Uhhm, I don't know, maybe a book?"
"No, it's even better"
"Nothing is better than books y'know" she narrowed her eyes at him as she lightly punched him in the guts,
"The usual response from my favourite bookworm" he chuckled
She bit the inside of her cheeks trying not to smile
"Come on, remember when you were five and you were so excited about the best friend necklaces you got us, and then cried for days when it started to rust and left this green residue on our necks and we had to throw it away."
"Yeah, but what does that have to do with the gift, y'know"
"Have some patience, little kitten." Aizawa rolled his eyes, and then he smirked as he opened the bag to take out a small black box.
"Here" he handed it to her
She slowly opened the box and her eyes widened the second she saw the gold oval necklace, with the first letter of her first name, O, and the first letter of her last name, A, engraved on the face with beautiful leaves surrounding it.
"And It's real gold. A friend told me that it would never rust that way and-"
But before he could complete his sentence, his daughter hug attacked him.
"Thank you, Dad!! and FYI, I'll never be mad at you for being late, I know you do an important job. I love you, y'know!"
"I love you too little kitten!" he chuckled
"Also" she poked her head out of the hug," You have a friend other than aunt Kayama and uncle Yamada?" she raised her eyebrow
"Shut up" he rolled his eyes, well knowing that she is right and he actually took the tip from Kayama herself, "come on let me help you wear it"
Okimi handed the box to her dad.
"Hold your hair up" as she did, he helped her wear the necklace, glinting beautifully on top of her cartoon themed pyjamas
