A/N: 'Anything that looks like this, is Melfina singing'

Almost half of the Sept shows up the next morning to get to work on the homestead. Ebbe and Aksel came running to me, chittering *Save us!* I bend down and pick them up, laughing. "What's the matter, little ones?" I head outside carrying them, then hear the children squeal in excitement at seeing my ermines. "Oh, I think I know what's wrong now," I say, still laughing. Karina walks up laughing as well, saying, "I see that the children have found your little friends."

"Indeed they have," I say and put them in their pouch. "I see that a good number of people are here to work on fixing things around here," I tell her, still smiling. "The whole Sept heard about the deal we've got, and some are looking at if they want to move in or possibly buy land nearby, seeing as we'll be protected. With you claiming this territory as yours," Sofia says as she walks up. "Plus, some are here just to see if we are lying about you being able to walk in the sunlight," Karina tells me.

"Is there anything I can do to help out?" I ask as I sit down on a bench outside the front door. "No, Melfina, we've got it all covered," Hans tells me as he walks over after putting Ivan in the pasture. "Well then, I'll get a few things from inside and just sit out here and try to stay out of the way," I tell them. I head to the room I've been using to rest, grab my horn, prep it, and then drink my meal for the day. As I collect up some wool and my spindle from my saddle bags, my sewing kit to make bags so I can hide money all over the house for the chosen family and I put away my drinking horn. I head outside, Ericik comes over *They've left you a chair and table in the shade near the pasture* I place my hand on his head and feel eyes of the Sept following us, as Ericik leads me to the chair and table.

As I lay down my items on the table, I make myself comfortable. I softly sing songs of my youth as I spin thread. Several hours have gone by, and the spinning is completed, so I start into measuring out material to make simple bags. I feel the presence of others nearby. *Keep singing the children are the ones coming closer,* Frida tells me.

'Come, little children, I'll take thee away
Into a land of enchantment, Come, little children, the time's come to play
Here in my garden of shadows,' I sing out to them smiling softly. 'Follow, sweet children, I'll show thee the way, Through all the pain and the sorrows, Weep not, poor children, for life is this way, Murdering beauty and passions.
Hush now, dear children, it must be this way, To weary of life and deceptions
Rest now, my children, for soon we'll away
Into the calm and the quiet.
Come, little children, I'll take thee away
Into a land of enchantment, Come, little children, the time's come to play, Here in my garden of shadows.'

"Hello there, my little ones," I say to all of them. "Would you sing more songs for us?" One of children asks. I smile warmly, "Of course, I will."

'Frère Jacques,
Frère Jacques,
Dormez vous?
Dormez vous?
Sonnez les matines,
Sonnez les matines,
Din, din, don!
Din, din, don!'

'Don't believe, and you'll wish
That you'd found true love's kiss.
Don't believe it, and you'll find
That every hope was somehow missed.

Rather slay a dragon now.
Find your castle in the clouds.
Dream a dream that makes
Fairy tales come true for you today.

Lift your feet up off the ground.
Raise your voice and sing.
Hold your hands up, shout for joy.
Then believe and you'll find that...

Fairy tales do come true.
Make a wish, and you will see.
Some day soon, "Once upon a time,"
will come true just for you.'
