It's been two weeks since the accident and neither Elizabeth nor Noah have woken up. Jay was starting to worry about both, and prayed harder each day that they would wake up.
Erin was still trying to show up at the hospital to talk to Jay, but every time he would shut her down and kick her out since she wasn't there to see his poppy.
The team behind crashing into Noah and Elizabeth had been caught and booked, now awaiting trial.
——
As Elizabeth slowly opens her eyes, she tries not to freak out while feeling the tube down her throat. Tapping the hand next to hers as hard as she possibly could, which wasn't very hard, she got their attention and they immediately ran out of the room.
She could nearly make out the yelling, but when the person came back, she noticed it was no one other than her favorite Halstead's.
Will was saying something to her, but she couldn't really hear. It felt like there was a blockage keeping her between them. Will, noticing that she wasn't answering his questions, grabs something to clean out her ears for after her tube is out.
As the tube comes out, Elizabeth starts coughing up a little blood, and she ends up pooping her ears in the process. Laying her head into Jay, she lets out a soft, "ow" before finally hearing the brothers laugh. "I heard you guys!"
Letting Will clean her ears, she listens to Jay updating her on her condition, as well as Noah's. "Has his family been notified?"
"Yes, and we all take turns sitting with you guys. I sat with you both the most, and we almost put you guys in a joined room, but decided not to."
As Maggie came and took lab samples, she told the young Severide child that her father and grandfather were outside the room. "If you don't mind, will you send them in? I've given them the silent treatment for too long."
Elizabeth was finally ready to see them, and it was on her terms only. Of course, she wanted to see Noah first, but she knew she couldn't get out and cleared without seeing them as well.
Maggie, glad that the young child was ready to move forward in life, "of course sweetheart." Walking out of the room, she puts on a childish grin, "Don't fuck it up guys."
As Kelly walks in to see Elizabeth lying in Jay's arms, he tries to not let the negativity come first into his thoughts. But he knows that Elizabeth will always feel safest with Jay, and Jay will always protect her.
"How are you feeling Elizabeth? Do you need any more medication?" Lifting her head from Jay's arms, she lightly shakes her head. "I feel really sore and stuff, but I think it's normal. Maggie told me I can get a muscle relaxer a little later after I've been up awhile."
Hank takes a seat by the door, wanting to give his granddaughter space. He knows she's not the same 17-year-old he used to sit in the hospital with reading books and spending the night beside. But, it wasn't that long ago that she was 17, and his precious baby.
He couldn't blame this on Noah, because the people were after Elizabeth to get to her mother. Someone the young girl hasn't seen since she was previously admitted to med years ago. Her half-siblings had been placed in protective custody, where Elizabeth and Noah will go when they get their strength back.
"Elizabeth, we found out who was to blame for the crash, and it has nothing to do with you or Noah for the most part." Elizabeth was honestly nervous.
She and Noah usually don't go out without his team of bodyguards, but they wanted to have just a night for the two of them. That, of course, was the night of the horrible accident. "The men who caused the accident were trying to kidnap you to find your biological mother. She's on the run, and wanted by many people."
——
As Elizabeth finally comes to grasps with her mother being out on the loose, and people trying to kill her to get to her mother, she leaves her room to find Noah.
Well more like wheeled out by Will
Noah is the only man that can truly bring a smile to Elizabeth's face no matter what. As she comes to a stop beside his bed, she gently grabs his hand. She thought the pain she felt was brutal, but looking at Noah, his seventy five percent worse. He took a large amount of the force and impact.
He shielded her so she wouldn't be in pain. But seeing him lay in the bed was enough pain in itself. Racking his hair out of his face, she sits and talks to him for hours before having to return to her room for food and medicine. "I'm here Noah, please don't leave me"
