chapter 7:new arrivals

3RD PERSON POV: Maria's eyes fluttered open as she found herself in her room and placed her hand on her head

Maria:urgh...I feel like shit....

She sits up groggly while letting out a groan and let's out a yawn

Maria:well...time to head back to work

She got up from her bed and walked over to her rooms door just as it opened to reveal Hellen

Maria:morning Hel-OOF!

Hellen collided with her, knocking the wind out of Maria, and hugged her tightly as Maria returned the gesture and patted her on the back, softly

Maria:hey, what's gotten into you? I'm not dead you know

Hellen:yeah, but you your nearly did, idiot...

Maria:*sigh*look I know your worried about me and that's normal. But someone has to be out there, being a hero, especially since Spider-Man isn't here, I'll have to pick up my slack

She says as the young girl looks up at her as Maria looks down at her

Hellen:well then...what about someone else, can't anyone wear the mask?

Maria would huff out a silent chuckle with a small smile and would crouch down to her level and would bring Hellen into a gentle hug, resting her chin on the top of the girls head

Maria:you're right. Anyone can wear the mask, anyone can be a hero...but right now I'm that hero, and it's my duty to protect everyone and its my responsibility to use my gifts for the right purpose...because with great power comes great responsibility. That's what Spider-Man told me when I first got these powers

FLASHBACK: a recently bit Maria sat next to Seokjin, said half Asian had just recently started his job as Spider-Man, police lights and sirens bleared off down bellow them as Maria's breathing was heavy and ragid and stared at her bloody hands

Seokjin:hey, I know your scared right now and that's understandable...but I need you to listen to me

He says while placing a firm yet gentle hand on her shoulder as Maria turned her gaze towards him, some blood splattered on her face, she showed clear signs of fear and worry, and many ither emotions, her breathing was still heavy and ragid as tears poked the corners of her eyes

Seokjin:so first off. Mind telling me your name?

Some tears rolled down Maria's cheeks as she wiped them away

Maria:Maria. Maria O'Hara

Seokjin:well Maria, I can understand the emotions your feeling right now, mainly confused....scared...angry....

He says before wiping away her tears and the blood on her face

Seokjin:but you where given incredible gifts. Don't be stupid like me and hate it. And you can be a hero

Maria:BUT I JUST KILLED SOMONE! HOW CAN I BE A HERO, WHEN I KILLED SOMEONE?!

Maria looked at him in confusion and anger as she let her tears freely fall down her face as Seokjin placed his hands on her arms

Seokjin:it's not your fault. You don't have a mastery over your powers, so it's understandable that you don't know how to control it. Maria, you just got these powers, no one and I mean no one, expects you to instantly master them. It's a process, a process I'll help you walk through
