Chapter THREE

They were stuck.

A week had passed and the case began to cool down. They had done numerous interviews with neighbors of Wang Ye-Rim but no one saw a man with her. Not a person that could have been suspicious in any way. Friends couldn't give them any further information either.

Ye-Rim was loved and no one could understand why this happened.

Her sister in Gwangju just had the feeling that Ye-Rim was more happy than usual but couldn't elaborate on the cause. She also speculated the Marc Jacob's handbag was the reason, but wasn't sure. And no one knew where the handbag was. They even went to the department store to ask the staff if they remembered selling it. The store could provide video footage of Wang Ye-Rim, but nothing unusual stuck out.

And the dog was also still missing. Taehyung had called several animal shelters in hope the dog was found and could give a new lead, but it was to no avail.

They even interviewed friends and family of Gwan Iseul again to look for connections to Wang Ye-Rim, but the two women didn't have anything in common other than living in Gangnam-gu.

They had pulled video footage from the CCTV around Wang Ye-Rim's building to find out more on the white Honda sedan, but they couldn't find anything usable. They knew they had a lot of cameras in the area, but even those couldn't provide every solution.

It was quiet while they sat at their provided laptops and read the ongoing cases of Yoongi and Jimin.
They had four ongoing cases, but nothing stuck out to give enough reason for a sane person to become a target to hurt or make an attempt on their lives.

„There is the robbery you wished for," Jungkook says and points at his screen. „But Yoonmin hit a dead end on this one. They speculated about organized crime, how it was conducted and an inside job with one of the employees."
„Really? Why?", Taehyung asks skeptically and rolls to Jungkook's side. He squeezes next to him, looking at the screen intently.

Jungkook points at notes in the file. „Jimin noted that three employees weren't very cooperative. One was Yun Hak-Kun. He was ill on the day of the robbery and works in customer service."
„And that makes him suspicious?"
„Don't ask me how Yoonmin's brain's work."
„We better not delve into that."
„Yeah, we better."
„So the second," Taehyung prompts, leaning more on Jungkook's arm.
„So there is Kang Do-Hee. She works in Funds Management," Jungkook recites. „She didn't talk much and Yoongi noted she was dismissive and cold. He noted especially that she was very impassive."
„Mmh," Taehyung hums, thinking. „Was she in the public area when the robbery happened?"

Jungkook scrolls up, searching. „Yes, she was."
„Maybe she was in shock?" Taehyung suggests.

Jungkook scrolls back down to the notes. „There," he points something out on the side edge of the notes. „Yoongi thought about it, but he still wrote ‚something not right' here."

Taehyung leans back in his chair, biting his lip in thought. Jungkook reaches out, freeing the lip. „Not here, babe," he chides softly. „Concentrate."
„I am concentrating."
„No," Jungkook replies. „That is one of your signs you are horny."
„I can be horny and think about things."

„Focus Kim!"

Taehyung looks at him displeased. „Fine. Who is number three."
„One of the cleaning crew. Pyeon Eun-Bi."
