Sam woke up the next morning in his apartment. He had thought the whole thing had been a dream, until he saw the piece of paper with Colby's number on it. He thought about calling it when suddenly he got an alert on his phone. It was an ad for a room being rented in a house nearby.
Sam was barely able to afford an apartment in Los Angeles, so he was hoping to rent a room and share the cost. It would be a little easier on him until he found a more solid job, besides YouTube.
Sam sent them a message and made arrangements to go see the house and the room. When Sam's taxi pulled up, he was in awe. The front gate opened to a beautiful white house with pillars leading up to the front door. It was in a very nice part of LA. Sam wasn't sure he would be able to afford this, even with a couple of roommates but he was already here so he would still have a look anyway.
Sam rang the doorbell and waited patiently. The doorknob turned and Sam was in disbelief when he saw who was standing in front of him.
" Well, I'll be damned," said Colby. " You just couldn't stay away could you?"
" There must be some mistake," said Sam. "I'm supposed to be looking at a room."
" There's no mistake," said Colby. " Jake said that someone had called to check out the room. Come in, I'll show you around."
" Thanks," said Sam. He made his way past Colby, who was leaning on the side of the doorway as Sam entered. Even the foyer was beautiful.
" Follow me," said Colby.
He made his way up the set of stairs and Sam followed behind him. Colby showed him to the room. He was right across from another one and it had a bathroom in the center of both.
" I'm right across from you," said Colby. " I hope that's okay?"
Sam laughed. " You make it seem like I've already said Yes to moving in," said Sam.
" Well?" asked Colby, smirking.
" I'd like to see the rest of the house first," said Sam.
" Of course," said Colby.
Colby led Sam around the rest of the house and then outside. He opened the sliding door to reveal a massive backyard with a gorgeous pool. When they went back inside, Colby introduced Sam to the rest of the roommates. Two of them were Jake and Corey, Sam recognized them as the other members of the band. Brennen had used to live with all of them but had recently moved out to get his own place, leaving the empty room in the house.
Sam would be lying if he said he wasn't amazed with this house and he already seemed to be getting along well with the roommates.
" Well, what do you think?" asked Colby.
" I really love it," said Sam. "It's just I'm worried about not being able to afford it."
" I think we can make some arrangements," said Colby.
" Really?" said Sam. " You'd do that for me?"
" Sure," said Colby.
" When do I move in?" asked Sam.
" Whenever you like," asked Colby. " Also, you should probably know, we host a lot of private parties here once in a while. Would that bother you?"
" Not at all," said Sam.
" Great," said Colby. " Welcome to the TrapHouse."
Once the final arrangements were made, Colby helped Sam move everything from his apartment to the house. Sam spent hours setting his room and he sat down on the couch once it was finished.
