VI: Danny's Note

Danny had left behind a note for Sam. He had given it to Diane Starburn, Ellia's older brother, to make sure that Sam got it; however, this meant that not everything was as it seemed. Diane only got involved when things got dangerously close to rupturing the timeline. Clockwork was even afraid of Diane. Most ghosts were afraid of him. His mental abilities and teleportation powers only furthered this fear towards those viewed as enemies. There were several times Clockwork had tried talking to him, only to get cryptic answers and a look through his own mental world.

Sam wasn't having any of the chaos that was going on. It had been 5 days since they came to this city. Mathis, Ellia's adopted brother, was annoying as frack, and would not stop flirting with her. Whereas Sarah kept trying to kill Mathis while Ellia was distant, like she was waiting for somebody else to pop up at any moment. Ellia kept turning around, looking at different things, constantly muttering things to herself, and would not tell Sam what was going on. There had been at least six explosions since they came here, but no one seemed bothered by them.

Why? Sam thought as she walked down the street looking for Sarah. The cotton candy colored ghost was up ahead in a book store. Then Sam legitimately 'ran' into someone who she thought was weird, which at this point was saying a lot. Short dusty brown with a stripe of blonde hair, brown with flecks of gold eyes, and a gold conspiracy theory choker.

"Ah! Sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you like that," the ghost said. He was one of the few ones here who actually walked on the street, most ghosts floated everywhere.

" It's fine. I didn't realize that there were other ghosts who walked," Sam replied.

"I guess we were both lost in thought," he spoke. "Your name is Sam Manson correct?"

"Yes. How did you know?"

"I know your boyfriend, Daniel Fenton. He said to give this to you," he replied while handing Sam a note.

"Oh. Thank you," Sam said as she took the note from him.

"See you around. Oh, and my name's Diane."

Sam gave him a quizzical look as he walked away.

Well that was odd. And he was really strange. How does he know Danny? Sam thought as she entered the bookstore. She went to a table in the back, where Sarah was arguing with Mathis, and sat down. Then she opened the note.

It read:

Sam,
I'm sorry for standing you up like that. I was in so much pain. I'm fine for now, but you need to hold onto the choker I had Pandora give you. It's very important. You will see me soon, I promise. Right now your number one priority should be heading to the capital. They should let you into the castle. If they don't, head inside through Pariah's keep. You'll enter through the dungeon.
                                     Love,
                                             Danny
