The sea was peaceful, and the sky was clear. It seemed like even nature was prepared for the battle. Shavone enjoyed the view on the deck. Her children were next to her, sleeping. The peace she felt at that moment stopped leaving her body once she could see the shore far away.
She kissed her three children on the forehead, then ran to gather the people. Shavone climbed to the highest point of the ship and howled. This was her signal to her people to get ready.
As people started arriving on the deck, Shavone kept howling and looking at the shore. She waited to hear if Ilidian might respond, like her children did in Occeania. No answer.
Soon everyone was on the deck, including wolves. Each person was armed with their finest weapon. Silver was pregnant, so Shavone didn't want to risk it. They made a plan to have her stay on the ship with Shavone's children and a few water mages to protect the ship. This was an easy job since it was almost impossible to defeat water mages on the sea.
Everyone stood in their place, eyes locked on the shore. The moment they arrive might be their final moment, but nobody has fear in their eyes. Shavone stood in front of her people, raising her arm.
"My wolves, my dear friends. We are almost there. I want you to fight not just for me but for yourself. I can save my son, but I can't save my father, my mother, or my brother. Neither can you; our families are gone forever. Kerber shall feel our pain as soon as we step our feet on Selenya's ground. If any of you lose your life today, give hugs to our families and tell them we fought for them. Tell them we died for them, and we killed for them. Tell them their pain lives with us and that we will carry it and never forget it. We will never forget them." Shavone yelled with passion.
Her speech was followed by loud applause and the angry screams of her soldiers, full of pain. As the ship got closer, the mages started chanting a spell together that prevented the ship from being seen by the coast guard. The water mages prayed to the water to hide the ship, while the moon mages asked the moon to do so. They all used their magic and successfully brought the ship to shore unnoticed.
As the ship got close to the land, wolves jumped out first and surprised the coast guard. Fifty wolves aggressively cut through the lines of defense of confused soldiers. Jumping straight for the neck, the wolves didn't miss.
The soldiers tried to run away and alarm the castle guards about the intruders, but the wolves outran them before they got the chance to do so. In a few minutes, around twenty Coast Guardsmen were slaughtered only by wolves. The wolves then made space for the wolf druids to come through, who charged at the castle door. The entrance to the castle was slightly open so that the staff could circulate in and out.
Wolf druids used their weapon to cut through the stone gate. Everyone hit the gate at the same time with superhuman strength; the piece of the door broke, and the pass was wide open. Druids charged inside together, including wolves. Silver stayed behind with water mages and children, as planned, to guard the ship.
As Shavone's army entered the castle, they heard a bell, which was an emergency alarm, ring from the tower. They have been noticed already, which means they only had a few minutes to block the main entrance of the castle that was on the city side before more soldiers got the chance to enter the castle.
Wolves went first, cutting everyone who tried to stop them in half with their sharp fangs. They moved swiftly and synchronized, just like they do while hunting. In a matter of seconds, they were at the front gate of the castle, fighting soldiers that tried to rush in for defense.
A group of Shavone's wolf druids climbed the wall so they could cut the rope that held the gate up, which they successfully did. The gate closed, falling on some wolves and Kerber's soldiers that fought under it. Now that the castle was secured, outside reinforcements couldn't come in. The only thing left to do was kill soldiers inside the castle.
