Zyan's Point of View:
I was thoroughly hung over after hanging with Eva and Megan the other night. I was in the kitchen getting ready for work.
I was hoping the coffee could settle my head that was turning upside down and around like wheels.
"Good morning, where's Rosa?" Elvina asked me, and I sighed.
"She went to Edmund's with mama, Hey Vee, can I ask you a question?" I say, hoping she doesn't take offense, but I need to know if she is safe.
"What is it, Zyan?" She says snarky as she pretends to polish her ring.
"Is Matthew treating you, right? I mean, there are rumors about him in town still, plus there are unusual expenses coming from his side of the account at work. It seems like more than some wedding expenses." I say to her, and she huffs.
"I was waiting for this side of you to turn up. You are jealous that he chose me, huh? He said you were boring and egotistical. You could not let him shine and be successful, I seen that in all of your past failed relationships. Now you think you can pursue Michael, a man who you should be more concerned with his extracurricular activities than my man..." Elvina says with a smug grin.
"I'm jealous of what? What the hell do you have for me to be jealous of? I have already been with the prick; he is nothing worthwhile, trust me. Besides, Michael and I are just talking and getting to know each other. I am sure whatever his activities are is his business, that so-called man of yours couldn't handle the caliber of woman I am, remember that sis." I say to her, getting upset.
"Caliber of woman? Please, Zyan, you think you are so perfect and uppity. Well, unlike my faithful husband to be, your potential man whore was seen leaving a hotel this morning with an engaged woman. He will always be slinging his dick in the streets trust me, my friends have already given me the lowdown on that man whore. My man on the other hand is thinking about our future and legacy, stop worrying about Matthew and me, we are good. Better than good we are great and there is nothing you can do to tear us apart so stop being the jealous bitch you are and move on. For once be happy that it's not all about you." She says getting angry and yelling and I already know I am going to be blamed for this.
"My piece of advice sis, be careful and don't be stubborn. Don't allow for your future child to be the anchor that keeps you stuck on a sinking ship." I say grabbing my coffee preparing to leave.
"Make sure you see Dr. Reed before you let that charity dick come near you, there goes my piece of advice sis." Elvina says upset pushing past me and storming out.
"Great now my headache is worse." I say to myself as I get into my car and head to the firm.
Elvina is being really naive, and I realize there is no talking to her, I am going to have to ensure that Matthew never hurts her or her future child myself. Although she could be a bitch, Elvina is the first friend I ever had in my life. I need to protect her like I know she would protect me if she knew what I have been holding as a secret.
After my morning meetings, I headed to Matthew's office to have a one-on-one conversation with the prick. My best-friend Eva already told me how she seen Matthew on Sunset Boulevard with some mysterious woman, who was not my sister. She got scouts in the streets watching Michael, when she needs to be watching Matthew instead.
Besides Michael is not even my man, whatever he does is his business anyway.
"Yes, Wilton we will be more than happy to assist you with that little IRS oversight. I will see to it personally; I always need to keep my number one client happy." I walk into Matthew's office and hear him on the phone with a client, smiling like a prick too.
