Tamsyn sat Lucas down. Lucas looked at her confused. With deep breath she said:
"Im pregnant Lucas"
9 months later
Staring at the ceiling, Tamsyn paced around her room in a hurry as she patiently waited for Lucas to come back. She soon got lost in her own thoughts, thinking about how much better her life would be when this baby was born.
Then, without warning, her water broke. She suddenly felt a fluid uncontrollably leaking out of her.
At that exact moment, Lucas arrived home to hear his wife screaming her head off.
He sprinted towards her as fast as he could, wanting to make sure his wife was safe.
As soon as he got there, he knew what was up. He immediately picked her up, rushing towards the car as he watched his heavily pregnant wife lay comfortably in his hands. He placed her in front and got ready to drive away.
That journey to the hospital was incredibly stressful, she was making sure everything was ready as she was quite the perfectionist.
She had finally got everything on her list, ticked off from baby nappy's to blankets; she made sure everything was there.
They both rushed into the hospital and towards the receptionist. Explaining how she was pregnant and ready to give birth.
They were speaking so fast that the lady barely understood. After looking Tamsyn up and down, she understood what she was trying to say.
She then referred them to the maternity unit.
When they got there, the room was pleasant and cosy. It was like they were being personally invited. Tamsyn loved it!
Lucas sat down while Tamsyn was taken to change into looser clothes. The nurse sat her down to ask her a bunch of questions, like how I was feeling and how bad her contractions were.
They then did a medical exam testing her blood pressure, temperature and urine.
She also asked if they had any birthing plans ; both Tamsyn and Lucas (mostly Tamsyn) had decided they wanted a water birth.
Soon enough, Tamsyn was in a pool with Lucas by her side.
He talked to her, sang to her, anything to help distract her from the pain.
It was soon time to give birth.
"1,2,3 PUSH," the nurse said. This went on for hours, as she felt the intense pressure and burning sensation as the baby peaked out from under.
"1,2,3 PUSH," the nurse said.
But this time the baby came out sliding into the pool as the nurse picked up the baby. It was finally an end to a grueling 12 and half hours in labour.
Even though this was easily the worst experience of life, everything was worth it when she saw his bright green eyes stare at him.
With every delicate blink, her heart fell more in love with her baby, but the only thing left was to name him.
This is the only thing they didn't prepare for. She looked at Lucas and he looked back. They were dumbfounded until it clicked.
"I would like to name him Adrien"
Few years later
'I could tell I was extremely smart.' He always thought this. Soon going from being able to say his first word to reading books meant for 8-9 year-olds.
He was both Tamsyn and Lucas's pride and joy!
Lucas would show him off to everyone to make parents proper jealous, but as of late they started to notice how quiet he started to become.
