Chapter Fifteen

we were the one who gave him the gun

3rd person pov

when kamari had gone back home, she didn't expect to hear that since she had seen jason, there had been 12 murders in gotham and the killers were natural, normal civilians. but there she stood in the batcave with the others as she stood next to them

"did you talk to jason?" dick asked her and she looked up at him after she looked at the compute and what it had told them about the attacks and the deaths that were occurring all around them in gotham

"yeah but we can talk about that later, i think this is a bigger deal" she said and he nodded in agreement.

" a dozen dead in only two hours, crane and red hood were only doing a trial run" dick said and kamari sighed.

"crane is weaponizing anybody willing to take his drug, he's turning people into violent psychopaths" kory said

"that's what he did with jason" gar stated

"jasons gone, he's red hood now, its time we accept who he is" dick exclaimed and kamari shook her head

"no" she spoke up

"what?" he asked

"no, jason isn't gone, i talked to him, he's still in there, yes red hood exists but jason isn't entirely red hood" she stated

"you don't know that mari" kory said and she turned to her.

"and you do? none of you ever gave a single fuck about jason until right now, he was never your brother, or your partner, the only people who did care were me and gar. yes crane turned him into a dangerous weapon but we were the one who gave him the gun" she told them and she walked away leaving the group of them together.

"kamari be smart" dick called and she turned to him

"i feel like i should be the one telling you that" she exclaimed and she let her vines wrap around her wrists as she left the house again/ she didn't wait to hear what kory had to say or gar. she didn't even care anymore, kamari wanted to find the problem and she knew that she would.

"bring me to mom" she said and she let her vines bring her back home but when she got there, she heard a voice and she hid behind the wall as she listened in. she didn't even know the voice but with the way they were talking to her mom, she needed to get in there and fast.

"get the hell away from my mom" she told the man as she shot her vines out and wrapped them around the gun he had pointed at her mom and then around his body. she threw his body against the wall and he laughed.

"i got you right where i want you" he said and she laughed.

"yeah sure you do" she exclaimed and she let the vines snap his throat before she dropped down and avoided the bullets being shot at her. the rest was easy work and she killed the men around her.

"i didn't know you knew how to do that" ivy told her and she turned to her mom as she pulled the vines back in and wiped the blood of herself. she didn't care about the way her mom looked at her, the men were apart of cranes crew and if they were apart of crane, they were apart of jason. kamari just killed jasons team and she didn't care.

"yeah well, I'm not going to let anyone hurt you" she told her and ivy ran to her daughter as she hugged her and kamari hugged her mom back. kamari let her mom hold her as they both sighed and let each other feel the emotions.

"what did they want?" kamari asked her mom and she pulled away from her mom as she checked over her mom and made sure that she was okay.

"they wanted to find you, know where you are and then when i wouldn't give you up, they got mad, real mad and one of them pulled a gun on me but that didn't matter, you got here just in time" she stated

"cranes men?" she asked and ivy nodded making kamari sigh and ran a hand through her hair as she looked around and made sure they didn't leave anything that could hurt them or get them hurt but there was nothing and that's when kamari knew, it was simply to find her.

"they know we're here, we need to leave and find somewhere else to hide. i know a place, come with me" she told her and ivy nodded. they packed up all of their things and got in the car as kamari drove them to the mansion.

" i shouldn't be here" ivy told her and kamari turned to her mom and sighed.

"this is the only true place you'll safe in and we wont have to worry about them getting us here, i know that it might be a little hard getting them to trust you but i need you safe" she told her mom and ivy nodded as they grabbed the bags and brought them into the house.

"holy shit you're poison ivy" gar said and kamari sighed as she grabbed gars arm and led him away

"she got attacked in her home, they found her. cranes men tried to kill her and shes not safe there, she'll be safe here and i need you to trust me, i am my mothers daughter and i am keeping her safe" she told him and he nodded in understanding as they walked back out and kamari turned to her mom.

"alright lets get you to a room, you'll be safe here mom, i promise" she exclaimed and ivy nodded as they went to the room and ivy locked herself in away from everyone else.

"kamari team is heading out, you coming with?" he asked and she ndoded as she changed into the fighting outfit she wore and she left with the others. when they got there, they shot two grappling hooks down and got a few men.

"over here fellas" dick called and they began to shoot at them but it didn't matter because kamari separated with gar as dick and kory went together and conner went with blackfire.

kamari wrapped her vines around one of them as gar attacked the others and she smiled. she then turned and saw jason staring at her and she stared back.

"mar, lets go" he called and she nodded as they watched dick and kory leave. kamari sighed and shook her head as they went home and she thought of one thing.
