Caroline screamed in my ear. "You like Brice!" She cried happily, probably doing a little dance in her room. I could feel myself blushing badly, knowing she was telling the truth. I liked Brice. I really didn't know what to do, between my mom and dance - I really never had time for boys. In fact, Landry was only the second guy to ever ask me out on a date. Crap. I didn't think about Landry, I told him yes to the date tonight before my realization of my feelings for Brice. I'm not the kind of girl to lead a guy on, but I did say yes so I can't go back now. "Caroline, I have that date with Landry tonight." I could hear the intake of breath on the other side of the line. "Dang it!" She moaned, I could picture her falling back dramatically onto her bed. "What are you going to do?" She asked hurriedly. "I'm going to go. It's not like anything is going to happen with Brice anyways, so I might as well get some dating practice. I'll be sure to put him down easy though."
After finally ending my call with Caroline, I made my way to school. Soon enough it was lunch, and Reece was buzzing at the fact that my date was tonight. She already had my clothing, hair, and make up planned out for me, even though I didn't really ask her to. It was okay though, she was so excited and I didn't want to ruin her fun - besides I wouldn't have to do any work which was a nice touch. Brice sat down beside me, and my heart instantly picked up its pace, fluttering inside my chest. "Date?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow in my direction. Reece squealed, clapping. "Yes!" She exclaimed, "Anna has a date tonight." I still hadn't revealed my feelings for Brice to Reece yet, so I didn't mind her blurting out my plans. Brice looked down at his food, pushing his mashed potatoes around. He looked back up and asked, "Who with?" Before I even had a chance to reply, Reece beat me to it. "Landry!" She said happily, taking a bite from her apple. Brice clenched his hand into a fist, his knuckles turning white. "You're going on a date with Landry Evans?" Brice asked angrily. I looked at him, kind of afraid of his reaction. "Yes?" I told him, scooting away slightly. He noticed my hesitation and unclenched his hands immediately. "Anna I wasn't going to hurt you. I'd never do that." He looked really upset at my reaction, so I scooted back over and bumped his shoulder with mine. "I know that." I said, giving a small smile. "What's wrong with Landry?" I asked him curiously, watching him scoot his tray away - obviously not hungry anymore. "It's - it's nothing." He stopped himself from telling me, I watched as him and Scott shared a look. "O-kay?" I questioned, but it was obvious the conversation was over, so I just went back to my food, wondering why Brice was so angry.
Reece followed me home after school, and even though she had almost four hours she got to work immediately, starting with painting my nails a dark blue. I sat back, listening to the music we had on and enjoyed being pampered. I was still extremely confused at Brice's reaction to finding out my date was with Landry, but I tried to not think about it too much. After painting my nails, Reece started on my hair and makeup. It was nearing eight, which was when Landry planned to pick me up. Reece was touching up my makeup and hair, when she got a text from Scott. She immediately started fuming. "Anna." She said angrily, making me snap my head up to look at her. "Yes?" I questioned her, confused. She threw my phone at me, still stomping around angrily. I picked it up, reading her and Scott's last two messages.
Reece: What was up with Brice at lunch?
Scott: Landry is the one that is always calling us gay. Yesterday in math he was telling Mark about a date he has with some girl he wanted to bang. I think its Anna.
