KAISER
AGE EIGHT"You cannot hit your classmates, Kaiser." My fourth grade teacher reprimands me, holding to my arm, practically begging me to rip it off. She makes me sit down on the chair before walking around her office. The ambulance's sound becomes a nuisance to my ears the further it goes, the screams of Huston still ringing in my head. I wish I could do it again but this time, I would break his jaw and skin his face.
"He looked for it." I grit between tight teeth. I don't try to look on my right, I can see enough of his expensive suit the tailor just got done, his perfectly polished shoes and the three silver rings on his right hand.
The crown, the eagle and the crow.
"It is not an excuse, you hurt Huston badly and now he has to go to the hospital. His parents are very worried and so are we." I wish Huston was dead. I wish I had killed him. I wish I closed my hands on his throat and squeezed tight enough to cut any air from his lunges. I would've hit his head on the ground over and over again until the red of his blood painted the multicolored tiles. I would've made him scream and beg and cry for me to stop, to show him mercy. He would've prayed for me to pity him. Only if that stupid bitch of a teacher hadn't intervened.
"He looked for it." I tell her again, I will kill her too. I will make her choke on those smelly chalks of hers. She infuriates me. Her voice is too high, her shoes too flat, her body too fat, God, she deserves to die more than anyone in this class. Even more than Dawn.
"Now, Mr Hale, we can't tolerate this kind of behavior. It's the fourth incident this month and children, some even older than him, are forced to leave the school because they're scared of your son." She gives me that accusative look she always gives Dawn when she's cheating. Blondie always denies it, says the teacher is seeing things. I will rip her eyes out to make sure she's never seeing any thing again.
The first 'incident' was when Tyler fell down the stairs of the second floor.
The second 'incident' was when Dawn hit her head against the corner of a table, twice.
The third 'incident' was when Sara stepped on five bees while being deadly allergic to them.
The last one was today, when they had to call an ambulance for Hustan to take care of his broken bones. My favorite is Sara. Stupid girl should've watched where she stepped.
"You see, how's that a problem for us?, especially because Kaiser doesn't know how to apologize. The parents might want to press charges against your family and the school." Another look. Pa' chuckles slowly, it's never good when my father smirks. He puts his hand on my knee and stares in my direction with pride in his eyes. I don't need his approval. I'll kill him too one day. I'll kill them all. Like a farm of stupid little rabbits. I'll burn their corpses to the ground and bless the grass with their blood.
Xan would tell me to take a deep breath and to repress. His new favorite word.
Repress. Repress. Repress. He tells me to repress when I'm about to stab our little brother.
He tells me to repress when I'm about to snuck into Ma's room to make her cry.
He tells me to repress when I hold Dawn under the lake's water.
He always tells me to repress and then walks me to the woods to hunt a rabbit.
I don't think Pa' even bothers to repress, he says if God made him like that then why the fuck should he try to hide it. Xander doesn't agree, he says that to fit in our society we have to hide, especially in our cursed family. None of us is normal enough to mingle with the others. I never understood why it happened to us, the Hale, and not any other family.
