amelia kept her promise with will and went to him everyday he was in the upside down which wasn't for long. 

but one day she heard joyce yelling. amelia was confused but followed the sound. she went to castle byers first to try and tell will that his mom was coming for them. but when amelia went there the boy was no where to be seen. 

she heard screeches and ran towards them which led her to the hawkins library. there she found will basically tied to the wall with vines. one specific vine was in wills mouth.

amelia could tell he wasn't conscious so she just spoke to him in hopes maybe he would hear her. 

"will! your mom is coming for you. i don't know if you can hear me but just hang on a little longer okay? i'll be here." amelia said shaking the boy slightly. 

amelia waited with will until hopper and joyce showed up. 

"amelia?!" hopper said to the girl. 

"help will! i didn't want to do anything until you guys got here, i was too scared to pull that thing out of him." amelia said pointing towards will on the wall. 

joyce ran towards will. 

"you need to get him out! get him out!" joyce screamed towards hopper. of course the chief took no time and step forward towards the boy. he pulled out the vine and was able to free will. 

hopper and joyce checked for a pulse but found none. amelia put her hand over her mouth to stop herself from sobbing. 

"he's not breathing! he's not breathing!" joyce said to hopper with tears coming down her face.

"all right, joyce, joyce, listen to me, listen to me, listen to me." hopper said trying to calm her down. all amelia could do was watch. 

"i need you to tilt his head back and lift his chin." hopper instructed joyce. 

"now when i tell you, you're going to pinch his nostrils, and breathe into his mouth." joyce nodded and hopper began performing cpr. it lasted a little while until they realized will just wasn't responding. 

joyce kept telling will that she loved him and she was there for him and amelia was just standing there hoping will byers would wake up. eventually hopper began beating his chest and will gasped up for air. 

joyce immediately went to hug her son as hopper relaxed a bit to catch his breathe. 

"we need to go now." hopper said to the group. 

"i can't go." amelia said with tears in her eyes.

"what kid? yes you can and you will. we aren't leaving you here." hopper said. 

"look, i wasn't taken by the demogorgan but people much more powerful. they are tracking me if i leave they will find me again." amelia said tears coming out. all she wanted to do is go home but she knew for her families safety she wouldn't. 

"please just take will, and don't tell dustin about where i am." amelia pleaded to hopper.

"you are crazy if you think we are leaving you here." joyce said to amelia while holding will. 

amelia heard the ringing in her ears and knew they were looking for her. 

"you guys need to leave now." she said through the pain. 

"please just go. i will find a way out but for now i need you to trust me please. i don't want to put any of you in more danger." amelia said once again pleading to both hopper and joyce.
