Chapter 3

Once everyone had gone past through the large doors, they were all ushered inside the neatly lined up busses waiting for their arrival. As per usual, [Name] sat peacefully next to Rin so he didn't need to worry about some weird guy ending up beside him.

Although he was still a bit skeptical about this whole thing, seeing as how everyone looked calm and even eager to arrive at their location, he just shrugged it off. Seeing how it might take a while before they arrive at their location, he decided to rest his eyes for a moment and sleep.

It was always a habit of his to fall asleep whenever in a moving vehicle. There was just something about the ride that makes him tired. Maybe it was the cold or maybe even the fast-moving scenery, but he never lasts without dozing off somewhere in the middle of a long ride.

Thankfully, RIn was quite used to this behavior of his as he didn't even flinch when [Name]'s head ended up resting on his shoulder sooner or later. The teal=eyed male had long accepted his part-time job as a pillow for the other male.

Sighing, he decided to get some rest as well.

He didn't know how long it's been but eventually, they finally arrived at a large building inside a secluded forest. It was honestly such a suspicious place to be located in but the facility in general looked quite high quality despite being a bit...plain.

Walking inside, they were soon told to hand over personal belongings such as their phone, wallet, and everything else people had brought with them. Although he didn't quite want to give his phone away, he had no choice as he felt a bit bad if he denied the kind lady smiling at him.

"Thank you for your cooperation." The female who he soon found out was named Anri, gave him a nod before handing him a uniform with a particular letter and a number below it.

Walking away, he took a step back so Rin could give away his belongings and receive his uniform as well.

"What did you get?" Rin asked immediately as he showed off the number and letter displayed on his own uniform. It seems like he was on Team W with the ranking 257. A small hint of disappointment filled him at the sight as he too showed off his uniform.

"I'm on V." He spoke simply as he gave a tiny smile. He couldn't help but slowly adjust his uniform in a way that hid his own ranking. "Guess we're separating for now?"

A small frown also seemed to appear on Rin's face as he let out a sigh and ruffled his hair a bit in annoyance. "It appears so." He mumbled before staring him straight in the eye. "You better not get yourself eliminated so soon, you hear?"

A snort escaped [Name]'s lips at the words as he looked away with his hands behind his back, his grip still tight on the place where his ranking was shown. "Of course, we still have to knock someone off his high pedestal, don't we?" He smiled.

Rin simply nodded at that before turning away once Anri started talking.

"All right, now each of you will go to the room matching your uniform's letter. We'll notify you when to change into your uniform."

At that, everyone who already received their uniforms was quick to head off into their respective rooms. As he walked in the direction opposite to Rin, he couldn't help but let his smile fall as he looked at his uniform.

'245...' He thought to himself as he stared at the number on his uniform. It was a bit confusing to him, to be honest. Why was he ranked so much higher than Rin? He knows for a fact that he was a much better athlete than him in every way. So why?

Although there were 300 of them and that 245 was still a pretty low number, he couldn't help but frown at the prospect of someone deeming him better than Rin. It was just such an absurd thought if someone had seen them play together
