After the game of tag, the final loser was promptly forced to quite literally "fuck off", before everyone settled down. They all had a quick change of clothes, something more suitable as casualwear, and even brought out futons that Ego had prepared for everyone.
"Interesting." [Name] mumbled as he blinked at the TV, its screen displaying the rules of the next challenge they'll face in this prison named Blue Lock. Others were also standing before the screen as they read the rules.
"I see..." Zantetsu nodded as if he understood what was happening and even adjusted the glasses on his face. "The objective of the first selection is to score 10 goals, trade those points using this bonus thingy, get the one-day pass, and escape the hell out of here." He concluded as he stuck a thumb out in the direction of the goal bonus list.
"Totally wrong moron," Reo commented to his amazing deduction while Nagi whined about something lacking games.
[Name] sighed at the lack of sugar-coating as he waved over Zantetsu to his futon. The man, who had just recovered from being called a moron, walked over to [Name] and crouched down in front of him with a tilted head.
"Yes?"
"The goal of the first selection is to ensure that our team has a minimum of 3 wins so that the whole team passes. If we can't accomplish that, we simply need to be the best scorer so that if the team loses, we can at least move on by ourselves." [Name] explained patiently while Zantetsu nodded in understanding although despite that, he could tell the other was still a bit lost. "In simpler terms, just score the most goals and do your best to win against opponents."
"Oh, I got it!" Zantetsu nodded as a light bulb went off in his eyes. "Thank you, you're a nice person." He complimented with an awkward thumbs-up.
[Name] simply snorted as he leaned back on his futon. "No problem at all." He learned how to be patient after all the tutoring lessons he's had to give Rin just to pass most of his classes. God knows how awful that kid is with anything that isn't soccer or English.
"-But first, we need to survive and advance with everyone in team V. Let's do this guys!" Reo exclaimed, catching [Name] and Zantetsu's attention.
"What did he say?" [Name] whispered in confusion as he eyed the guy next to him. He merely shrugged in confusion as he also didn't hear what he was yapping about. Everyone else was silent, giving him no context clues either.
"I want a team that centers around my play-making abilities, but what are your guys' thoughts?" Reo asked causing everyone to think in thought.
"Wait, if we're team V...that means there are a lot of seriously strong guys ahead of us." One of the guys said out loud, a tone of worry visible in his voice.
"That suits me just fine. This is gonna be fun!" Reo gave a wild grin as he confidently said that in a sing-song tone.
"Looks like our opponent will be worth adversity," Zantetsu stated seriously, his expression akin to an action anime protagonist after dropping a cool one-liner."Did I get that right?" He asked as he turned around.
"Absolutely not." [Name[ and a few other players chorused in unison causing Zantetsu to slump in disappointment.
"It's worthy opponents, idiot." Reo deadpanned.
Suddenly, the television screen flickered into an image of Ego. "Well, well, hello there you unpolished gems." The glasses-wearing man, the instigator of this whole facility, greeted them in his usual manner. "Just now, team X and team Z kicked off their match." He informed. "In just a few moments, team Z and team Y will go against one another."
[Name] couldn't help but frown a bit at the announcement as he stood up from his futon."
"My own goals or the team's victory? The first selection will determine your fate as a striker. This is a battle about to rebuild your soccer from zero."
